The middle east is realizing they cannot trust Obama, if he is willing to throw Mubarak under the bus:

MIDEAST CALL: President Obama called Yemen’s president on Wednesday to urge similar actions that he’s asked of the Egyptian government, the White House announced Thursday.
Here’s the readout from the White House:
“President Obama called President Ali Abdullah Saleh of Yemen on February 2 to welcome the significant reform measures that President Saleh had announced earlier that day, and to stress that President Saleh now needs to follow-up his pledge with concrete actions. President Obama asked that Yemeni security forces show restraint and refrain from violence against Yemeni demonstrators who are exercising their right to free association, assembly, and speech.
He needs to mind his own business!

Clinton joins chorus for free press
Secretary of State Hillary Clinton joined a chorus of support for journalists in Egypt on Thursday, condemning the arrests of reporters by the police and calling for freedom of the press in the country on the brink of revolution.
“Freedom of assembly, freedom of expression and freedom of the press are pillars of an open and inclusive society,” Clinton told reporters at the State Department. “The Egyptian government must demonstrate its willingness to ensure journalists’ ability to report on these events to the people of Egypt and to the world.”

Copts have claim to heredity most closely attached to the ancient Egytians. Back in my youth, we learned that Pharohs were Circassians and looked different from other Egyptians and Hebrews. Don’t ask me to remember where I learned that, but it’s not taught anymore.
Somebody tell this bimbo that the Constitution only applies to Americans. Dictatorships have no such ideals.
Interesting. Sounds like good secular non-violent protest advice. Also suggest, windex, hair spray, women’s perfume spray and a number of other non lethal spray substances for defence. As a child we used to get garbage can lids and pockets full of driveway gravel and have battles. ;-)

While silly looking, those photos are of people who came up with make-shift protective headgear. It’s not unreasonable, considering all the cr@p being thrown.
After looking at the YouTube video I note, the signs look large and well prepared, I don’t see m/any women in the crowd. Yesterday I ran across something [perhaps even here at FR] where a top Al Qaida type was urging people to go to Yemen to protest.
Dear God Almighty. Look at combat_boots’ postings and fall to your knees.
I despise Shepard Smith and all the newscasters who won’t report the truth.

Much as we may dislike the way Obama is handling the Egypt crisis, it is hardly fair to blame him for SCREWING UP Egypt. Remember, for the entire 30+ years of Mubarack’s rule there were 12 to 20 years of Bushes and Reagan, and considerably fewer of Rats. Furthermore, given that there are over 80 million population strung along a narrow river valley, how are these people ever to be able to provide a decent life for the bulk of the citizens? Also does anyone have any idea/figures for how much wealth the rich and connected have spirited out of the country as happens so often in these places???
Hold on... they met with ElBaradei and were then arrested? But ElBaradei has not been arrested?
