URGENT: Gunfire heard in Cairo's Tahrir Square as supporters of President Mubarak and anti-government demonstrators clash hours after the embattled leader defiantly said he would serve out his term in office.

They put up another supposedly “live” split screen right after my last post - one screen the same distant shot.
Man; they’d better not hang around there!
Since then it’s been “Recent” or “Latest” shots.
Apparently the Army moved in some Infantry to back up the Armor that’s been there. Tanks are not the best way to run crowd control unless you want to just kill everybody (which is why Chicoms used them in Tienimen Square I suppose).
From the ‘recent” clips it looks as if the Infantry is working the crowds a lot more than the Tankers were previously. What they will do when the sun goes down (which is about to happen now) remains to be seen.
Very little info getting out - even the tweets are drying up. The Regime’s Secret Police are apparently still very efficient.
(((SE Mom))) He’s worse, I know.
The Drama Queen cut-off Hillary’s speech! LOL.
@niklassvensson: Update: Swedish reporter Bert Sundström is operated on for knife wounds. http://bit.ly/dKgIir #Jan25

Shep is really in form today. I can’t believe he keeps referring to the egyptian “people” as though the primary fighters are not a collection of hamas and muslim brotherhood thugs who have been pouring over borders for the past several days.
And he just said that he thought the “people” would “triumph” and force this dictator out of office but not yet.
What dangerous ignorance.
Judge Napolitano was just as bad today, too.

THE WHITEBOARD
LET THEM PRINT: Secretary of State Hillary Clinton joined a chorus of support for journalists in Egypt on Thursday, condemning the arrests of reporters by the police and calling for freedom of the press in the country on the brink of revolution.
Freedom of assembly, freedom of expression and freedom of the press are pillars of an open and inclusive society, Clinton told reporters at the State Department. The Egyptian government must demonstrate its willingness to ensure journalists ability to report on these events to the people of Egypt and to the world.
Shep knows exactly what is happening. He is trying to keep the sheep from learning what is happening. Until it is too late for them.
You may very well be right. :0/
I couldn’t agree with you more were a gun held at my head! Dear Lord, both Shepard and the Libertarian former judge Napolitano are ignorant incompetents!
Shepard is hired to report the news! He doesn’t know who’s who or what’s what! Disgraceful. The idiot judge is merely spewing his opinion. I hope Glenn Beck is back today.
He's taken on his old "Katrina" form today. Can't stand him. Thankfully, Neil is on now.
I wonder if they'll nix Beck again today. Seems that Fox has gotten their marching orders as well, and they seem to be siding with the Muslem Bro'hood (MB), just like Obama.
Glenn was on the radio. I assume he’ll be on TV.
Shep really pushed my buttons today.
I refuse to believe that he doesn’t know what the muslim brotherhood stands for or that they’re involved with the “people.” What the h*ll is he doing?
It is way too far down the road to spew that goody-goody mindless, clueless garbage about a seriously complicated and deadly situation like Egypt especially since, if it goes badly, it could even lead to the end of Israel.
But maybe that’s what Shep wants.
Grrrrrr...
The ignorant masses. Well stated!
The Age of Aquarius...
Shep, like Couric and Anderson, is just another pretty face hired to read a teleprompter. No actual knowledge required for the job. Just like our President.
Many, many thanks to those who have kept up this thread.
Thanks Hush, This must be especially hard for you. We’re all praying and watching with you.
Gee; do you think that Beck really has been out sick, or did he get too close to the MuzBros grand plan on Tuesday and get benched / served a big hot cup of STFU by the Coach?
Was he on the radio this Morning?
I didn’t turn it on.
Israel should be foremost in the mix, but it isn’t. I can’t help but to wonder why Israel is omitted, right along with the security of the Suez Canal and the ultimate domino effect that will surely follow if Egypt falls into the hands of the MB or any Sharia government.
We all “get it” when it comes to the poor and hungry Egyptian people, but they are being played. They’re worried about their lives, their familes and their country right now.
The streets are filled with men... men with agendas.
Nix Beck? Eh?
Let me add my GRATITUDE AND MANY, MANY THANKS TO EVERYONE WHO’S KEPT THIS INFORMATIVE THREAD GOING!
Very well put. Absolutely nobody in the media is talking about the real, adult issues that we see are the obvious consequences of all this and that we discuss here on FR. Thank goodness for Jim and FR! But it is very worrisome that NOBODY is talking about what is so clearly on the table if this transition goes too fast and the wrong people get in.
Quite the opposite. The media wants the "people" to win and in a big hurry, too. Then I suppose all the unicorns and skittles will appear in the mideast... maybe they'll share with us?
My brains getting a little squooshy at this point!
