Former Governor Mitt Romney may not have decided whether to run for president, but someone else in his household has already made the call.
"My wife thinks I should run," he declared tonight in an interview with CNN's Piers Morgan. "She's absolutely committed. She's saying, 'You've got to run, you've got to have somebody who understands the world of the economy, small business, who can create jobs.' She's convinced I've got to run. But I have to look more broadly and say, 'Alright, Do I have a team necessary to do this?'"
Romney, continuing a whirlwind tour of television interviews to promote the new paperback version of his book, also talked up potential presidential rival Sarah Palin.
"I believe she is an extraordinarily powerful and effective voice in our party, that she has generated a great deal of support and attention," he said of the former Alaska governor. "She'd be great in a primary process."
When Morgan asked whether Romney could beat Palin, he said, "I don't know the answer to that."
The host then asked whether his wife knows the answer.
"She probably does," Romney replied.

Romney might make a decent treasury secretary or be good in some other cabinet position, but a lot of people will be turned off by him at the top of a presidential ticket. Some won’t like his positions on things (too liberal in many ways), some will be anti-Mormon, some will be bitter that he beat their preferred candidate, some will have other reasons. But Romney will be fighting an uphill battle against whomever the dems put forth to replace 0bama when he can’t produce a legitimate birth certificate and states keep his name off ballots.
Yeah, good in business. So good, in fact, that he destroyed the medical insurance industry in Massachusetts by signing Romneycare.
Friend, Mitt is a phony from start to finish.
His personal bank account is an indicator,
Jon Huntsman will be filling the Romney slot. Romney will not run because he authored Massachusetts health care law and lost last time around...he is too familiar. Jon Huntsman is fresh on the national stage and has the $$$$ raising connections
No Huntsman, either. Hunstman is pro-Illegal Alien and...you do not get selected by Obama for an ambassadorship if you are a conservative....
No Huntsman
He had a lot of help...it was Mass.
I don't like him...and I think he will do anything to be elected POTUS. But I think he has made too much money not to be good in business. If he made his money down-sizing businesses to make them profitable, I think he could do same in gov't. Downsize and get rid of certain Depts.
I don't want him for POTUS...but he isn't stupid...he's just wishy/washy.
Massachusett’s bank account and Romney’s continued defense of Romneycare is more indicative of what mitt will do as a politician.
But maybe Mitt is irrelevant. It’s his wife that wants him to run. What’s her policies?
You believe that?
(I'm not ignoring you....I'm hitting the hay!)
John Huntsman is DOA.
He's the one who said it, but no, I don't believe him.
I wouldn't vote for him even if I didn't think he was as liberal as Hillary, because I don't want a non-Christian in office. They don't share my value system. So they aren't likely to make the decisions I want made.
Hey Mitt, tell your wife she doesn’t know what she is talking about.
I’ll take Huntsman over Obama. I held my nose and voted for McCain. I’ll take any Republican over Obama
Was it his wife or did the Country Club call?
Pray for Egypt
Problem is, Willard didn't do that when he was in a position to do so as governor. He could have applied his business acumen to running the state of Massachusetts, but instead, he wound up signing into law, a measure that's bankrupting that state.
He'd make the same disastrous mistakes as president of the US.
Does his wife know what language the cook and maids speak.????
Would make a great SoS - expect Bolton is soooo much better a choice.
Mitt and John are non-starters due the incredible religious bigotry found in too many parts of the US.
Cabinet level posts are the best they can hope for now.
In other news...my mom says I’m a hell of a dancer and I am a lot of fun to be around.
He looks way too happy in that picture.
Methinks he’s got a thing for latex.
And fudge.
If I would have been ignorant enough to like him up to this point, I would’ve become disgusted with him for spouting such an unmanly, limp-wristed statement.
“Mitt and John are non-starters due the incredible religious bigotry found in too many parts of the US.”
***
Wouldn’t vote for either because they are RINOs.
But find it interesting that to vote against them for being cult members is “religious bigotry.”
If they were Scientologists, would you make the same accusation?
What if they were Sharia-loving Muslims? Same judgment of religious bigotry?
Or maybe being a cult member is a symptom of poor judgment at best...which in any event should disqualify them from becoming President.
Fortunately, a moot point because of the RINO issue that disqualifies them. However, I feel like hurling every time someone applies moral relativism to the LDS cult and accuses others of bigotry to silence the opposition.
