Under these programs, the USDA uses chemical poisons to murder literally millions of birds each year, including an occasional endangered species animal by accident. This is all part of the USDA's insane program of death to protect the financial interests of conventional agriculture giants.

Perhaps youre saying govt needs to get their nose out of farmers butt? I agree, no more subsidies and dictating yields!
You do understand supply/demand, don't you? A 10% oversupply of grains is deadly to prices.
Using corn for example; demand over that past 25 years has nearly doubled, and thanks to GM crops (think Roundup-Ready corn or soybeans) supply has kept pace, but it's an annual tightrope, with weather being a huge, uncontrollable factor. A series of rains can make the difference between profit or loss. The newer GM grains are more drought resistant, and , thanks to companies like Monsanto, even more drought resistant varieties will be in the field this year.
For more than 50 years the Federal Government has had a "Cheap Food for Consumers" agricultural program. It's most commonly just called "The Farm Subsidies Program".
It's been very effective in providing an abundance of cheap food for consumers, usually at the expense of the American Farmer.
The farmer would be better off without that program, but I can assure you that you wouldn't be happy about it.
Good thing they’re not using DDT to save human lives.
GM foods have been a great boon to the world in general and America in particular, and will continue to be. We can either remain at the forefront of this movement and profit thereby or stand astride the tide and shout “STOP!” and look the fool.
Come-on guys, don't be showing your ignorance all over the board. It's embarassing to us readers.
"One time" seed for most crops has been used since at least the 1950's, more than 60 years. No farmer who wanted to farm for more than 2 years ever tried to use the crop production as seed.
Seriously, the only redeeming value of the Leftist tripe you guys are spewing is that it's so easily refuted by common knowledge.
Even a farmers first grade son or daughter knows you're full on beans.
If potatoes are 39 cents a pound or 59 cents a pound, thats fine.
Are you sure that's what you want? 25 years ago we raised 7 billions bushels of corn annually. That's to changes in practices, and especially to GM corn seed, (think Monsanto) today we raise 14 billion bushels.
What do you think would happen if we eliminated GM seed, and were suddenly short 30% or 40% on some of our main crops?
Instead of 39 cents or 59 cents, think more like $3.90 or $5.90 a pound for those potatoes. Get to the store early, 'cuz they'll all be gone before noon.
Enjoy your 'organic' foods, they are a luxury that America can afford only because most people eat food produced by GM plants.
As a farmer, we have contact with the local Monsanto rep, and he has never been anything but helpful. That doesn't mean that we look at Monsanto as a big, benevolent entity. They operate in a very competitive market and they are aggressive. But they are not going around trying to sue farmers out of existence. That makes no sense at all.
Odd, so now one chimes in whilst ignoring Monsanto using lawsuits to corner the seed market and sue farmers for their own contamination?
As for the Terminator seeds, afaik, they have not been sold as of yet..have they?
>> “that people are living longer and healthier than ever before.” <<
.
Repeating that lie is wearing thin.
People are certainly not healthier in any way.
In the early 1950s the figure for cancer probability was one in five, which became one in four in the early 1960s, and stands now at close to one in two.
In 1950 diabetics were a small unnoticed minority, and type II diabetes was unknown to the average joe on the street. Now close to a third of our adult population show dangerously high blood glucose levels, which is a very likely cause for the alarming cancer probability, since most cancers are glycosylating, and have a voracious appetite for sugar.
The rise in type II diabetes keys in well with the pushing of poly unsaturated vegetable oils, and the even worse manufactured ‘fats’ in the various forms of ‘margerine.’
No, we are not living longer, or healthier, and statistical manipulation has not dented the mortician’s bottom line in any way.

>> “”One time” seed for most crops has been used since at least the 1950’s, more than 60 years.” <<
.
But that is not “Terminator” seed; that’s just ordinary cross polinated seed that reverts back to one of the parent varieties on the regrowth.
There is nothing wrong with natural cross breeding.

Now we see who the real Leftist / Statist is. - You’ve accused others here that are advocating the true conservative position of spreading “leftist tripe,” but you have no qualms about advancing the ideas of Lenin and Stalin.
Agreed. But it's not man infringing on God's realm through technology. Rather it's man's ability to screw up his intellectual property law and his inability to restrain and penalize abuses by alleged holders of said IP. Scientists create; lawyers destroy!
What a joke you are!
That malicious propaganda has all been up-ended, and you should be ashamed foe advancing it.
Pay some attention to reality, and stop helping the destroyers and death culture.
I’m 66 years old, never had a vaccine in my life, had all the childhood ‘diseases,’ which left me stronger than those that had vaccines.
I’m the clown that never used any of his sick leave, and resigned the county job at age 35 with 5000 SL hours on the books, and everyone shaking their heads.
Eat real food, stay away from doctors unless you are injured, and you’ll be ok.
.
GMOs are going to feed the world, just as our hybrids have for the past 50 or 100 years.
In an era of solar cooling we are very lucky to have the ability to genetically modify crops. It will keep the price of food down.
Live expectancey in the 50's was less than 70, today it's nearly 80. Yeah, all those cancer deaths have increaed our life spans.
What corner on the seed market? Farmers are free to chose whatever seed they want.
The problem for the Leftists is that companies like Monsanto provide such a powerful seed which farmers make more money from than anything else, and they freely chose to do business with them.
Ever heard of Roundup-Ready corn or soybeans? The seed is VERY expensive. Yet, farmers line up to buy it, leaving the other, cheaper seed in the storehouse.. Why do you think that is?
Go get your mommy to change your diaper, you uneducated punk.
I do shop around the grocery stores for quality and flavor. I have taken to grinding my own hamburger from higher quality cuts of beef too. It is cheaper and a much better flavor. The corn though has been changed to something I would not recognized. Maybe if I find a seed source from historic types to grow. I absolutely would swear that corn is now grown for higher sugar content so it works better for corn syrup, sweeteners and of course make more ethanol per bushel. Remember the taste of corn on the cob? It tasted like corn, not canned cream corn. It had huge kernels too.
Really?
How do you explain this:
On 28 January 2010, a five-member statutory tribunal of the GMC found some three dozen charges proved, including four counts of dishonesty and 12 counts involving the abuse of developmentally challenged children.[7] The panel ruled that Wakefield had “failed in his duties as a responsible consultant”, acted both against the interests of his patients, and “dishonestly and irresponsibly” in his published research.[8][9][10] The Lancet immediately and fully retracted his 1998 publication on the basis of the GMCs findings, noting that elements of the manuscript had been falsified.[11] Wakefield was struck off the Medical Register in May 2010, and may no longer practise medicine in the UK.[
