In Washington, bigwigs can misspeak and misstep a million times without drawing attention. And then there are the seemingly harmless moments that stick to a person like super glue: Joe Wilson barking You lie!; Jesse Jackson mumbling into a hot mic that he wants to castrate Barack Obama; Dan Quayle trying to spell things.
Like coal crushed into diamonds by the pressure of a million eyeballs, such moments are forever.
During an exclusive dinner hosted Monday by the Alfalfa Club, Obama adviser Valerie Jarret had just such a moment. And were it not for an irritated tipster, Jarret might have walked away from the dinner unblemished.
According to our tipster, Jarrett was seated at the head table along with several other big-name politicians and a handful of high-ranking military officials. As an officer sporting several stars walked past Jarrett, she signaled for his attention and said, Id like another glass of wine.

“Or something from his nose.”
Only if it included a hair.
Where in the world would you find waiters that dress like an Army officer. Do they want us to think she just rode in on a turnip truck?
At least she didn’t call him Captain Stubing.
What a class act the officer was. Calmly walked over and gave her some wine. That is the definition of a Gentleman.
She is no lady.
I mean, I hate to say this, but why are so many Democrat women as ugly as sin, both inside and outside. Michelle Obama, Hillary Clinton, Valerie Jarrett, Barbara Boxer, Barbara Lee, Maxine Waters....one could go on and on pointing out the ugly disgruntled witches that call themselves Democrat!!! Most of ‘em hate America, but they must hate themselves more!!!
A gentleman, even in the face of such ignorant effrontery.
I would give her a bit of a grin and go to my seat.
If he had said anything that resembled a complaint, he would have been labeled a racist.
Reminds me of “Stripes” when John Candy walks off the bus, sees the Sargent and goes “How’s it go’n Eisenhower? yuk yuk yuk”.
Hate to be the historian here, but the SS was the Party’s army. The SA WAS the party, and grew up from grassroots hooliganism. The SS was deliberately created to carry out the wishes of Hitler and his buddies. Hitler even called it the military wing of the NSDAP.
That being said...ew...loogies in drinks...
Evil tends to shrivel the husk from the inside.
Most of them are czars.....
Well...I mean...this isn’t all bad. I’m sure she’s much more coherent and intelligent drunk than she is when sober.
Yep. That was no accident. Arrogant SOB’s
Perfect! rotflmao

And the general complied. Did he ask her what kind of wine, how big a glass, fries with that?
“Oui bitch” was the reply
A very similar thing happened to me in Chicago some years ago. I had led my battalion in the Armed Forces Day parade in downtown Chicago and was invited to the city’s Armed Forces Ball. I attended wearing my most formal uniform, a Mess Jacket which does not extend below the waist. During the cocktail hour, I was talking with the 5th Army Commander, who was also wearing his Mess Jacket, which was distinguished by three embroidered stars on each sleeve. One of Chicago’s Doyen Matron’s approached and asked for another glass of wine which the General left to fetch. While he was away, I mentioned to this lady that she had just sent a three-star General on an errand. She was horrified and apologized profusely when he returned.
Civilians are completely ignorant about such things, but someone who is in government ought to know better.
