Drugged, Raped, and Pregnant? Too bad -- Republicans are Pushing to Limit Rape and Incest Cases Eligible for Government Abortion Funding
Rape is only really rape if it involves force, according to the new House Republican majority as it now moves to change abortion law.
For years, federal laws restricting the use of government funds to pay for abortions have included exemptions for pregnancies resulting from rape or incest, with another exemption covering pregnancies that could endanger the life of the mother.
But the "No Taxpayer Funding for Abortion Act," contains a provision that would rewrite the rules to drastically limit the definition of rape and incest in these cases. The bill, with 173 mostly Republican co-sponsors, has been dubbed a top priority in the new Congress by House Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio).

a woman walks into a pawn shop and hands the worker a diamond ring. After inspecting it, the jeweler says “I’m sorry, but this is not a real diamond.”
The woman screams “Call the police! I’ve just been raped!”

Feminists have already redefined rape ... to mean later regrets about a consensual act (among other things).

The first thing that jumped out at me, is the term “frcible rape,” which is a perfectly reasonable, descriptive term, which has been in use for many years, by Dems and Reps alike I am sure.

ding ding ding....we have a winner....
besides, it’s not about re-defining rape, it’s about deciding what gets funded....

They’re not “ladies” if they’re !%#!@$#@ing around.
All these problems would be moot if we all kept our legs together and stopped the immorality that leads to these babies and rapes (real or not).

Why should taxpayers pay for it just because it was forcible rape?
Taxpayers should not be forced to pay for someone else's abortion. In fact, there are A LOT of things that taxpayers should not be forced to pay for.
But I agree with Laz. The main point is the ABC bias. Republicans are in office so grab on to some SOCIAL story and smear them.

Why is the financing of the murder of unborn children a federal concern anyway? There is no interstate commerce involved. Because white liberals in states like NY or Massachussets worry that, without federal funding, nasty black babies may go unaborted in states like Louisiana and Alabama.

There's very clear definitions in each state. They are creating a controversy that isn't there. "Forcible rape" is the old common law definition that almost always refers to anything that isn't strict liability (statutory). That includes date rape, drugs, etc.
I'm going to possibly take some heat here, but I go a lot further than the bill in my stance. Abortion should be banned and the only exception should be the life of the mother. Babies are innocent. They don't choose their sperm donors.

But I agree with Laz. The main point is the ABC biasI'd at least appreciate a little honesty in their name. ABC could easily become WHC, which would stand for We Hate Conservatives.

There used to be a quasi-truce between the pro and anti-choice forces Obscene bias. Neutral would be to use each camp's terminology for itself, thus pro-choice and pro-life. The author clearly states his bias as soon as he uses one camp's term for the other. Also no attempt to get a quote from the authors, only the opposition. At the very least a responsible journalist would have the last sentence be something "Calls to the authors of the bill were not returned."

How 'bout this:
Leave the baby alone.
Crush the rapist.
Would that make your concern level go up a tick, Laz?

Yes, I’m really not so hep on having abortions for any reason. It’s not the baby’s fault how it came to be.

Again, I'm abortion-agnostic. However, I am 10000% against the insane levels of bias in this article, and thousands like it.
We all have our issues we care deeply about. Together, we form a Conservative party. :)

Force and that they file and not withdraw a rape report with the police, so if they live with the rapist their rapist goes to jail (if it isn't a croc to begin with).

If you were going to have an exception for rape, it would have to have been reported to the police and a rape kit done at the ER.
Just saying “I was raped” wouldn’t cut it.
