Rebecca A. Mansour, an aide to former Alaska Governor and VP candidate Sarah Palin tweeted that an article by Politico which stated that Palin last night to the Safari Club in Reno Nevada dropped the "reload" phrase from her routine "don't retreat, reload" line is inaccurate.
For the record, this story is inaccurate http://j.mp/h5g5xG Yesterday in Reno Gov. Palin did say her trademark line "Don't retreat, reload."
The Politico article written by Andy Barr seemed to have gotten the story about the allege line being drop from Reno Gazette-Journal's David Jacobs who put his ear to a closed door of the ballroom where Palin spoke since the club closed the speech to the press.
Poltico wrote that Palin's new line was "don't retreat, stand tall" and that it was in response to her being heavily criticized in the wake of the tragedy for her political rhetoric.
Media sources typically use to confirm a story by two or more sources before running with it, Politico has been known to run with shady and even false stories on conservative politicians and conservative media, especially Governor Palin.
Politico - Palin retreats, won't reload
A FreeRepublic member SFmom who attended the speech confirm as well that Palin did not retreat from her famous line:
I was there!!! She did NOT say she was ditching the phrase and even repeated it!!!

Just to discredit Palin.....Politico would run with something a reporter heard by putting his ear to the door.

Most of the garbage in the Politico is just that, garbage.

By the way, I am really glad that she didn’t change her line! There is NO need for her to do that!

Um, since a school in Montana this week changed the line in a school play to call for the beheading of Sara Palin all “calls for civility” bets are off.
I’d say that she can say whatever she wants!!

My assumption is that everything negative I hear about Sarah Palin for the next two years is a lie until proven otherwise.

It is encouraging me to that the governor is letting a surrogate clean up the “shadd” stories, while fully engaging on the big stuff.

That's a relief: one who takes ideas seriously does not sacrifice her own individual independent rational judgment in order to placate people whose beliefs she knows to be irrational.
