Yes, you read that headline correctly. The federal government has decided that spilled milk creates a serious enough danger that it needs to be regulated, and, the EPA is just the agency to do so. Follow the bouncing ball, here. It seems that the EPA has discovered that milk contains, a percentage of animal fat, which is a non-petroleum oil.

The EPA is just consolidating and expanding their fiefdom of extra-legal overreach. Any person with sense would conclude that a large spill of milk in the environment would be consumed by bacteria and rendered entirely benign faster than you can don a Nomex jumpsuit and grab your clipboard.

The EPA makes law without any accountability to the voters.

Dear EPA:

My cat missed the litter box and urine went all over the floor. I feel certain with the ever-expanding purview of the EPA this matter falls under your jurisdictions.

So please, with deliberate haste, shag your officious bureaucratic asses down here to Atlanta, and clean up this cat piss.

And then die.

Regards,

Spodefly

Had to dump 130 gallons or so out of a bulk tank once when a penicillin-treated cow came in on a muddy day and had lost her leg band.

Felt like a dumb_ss; didn’t realize I was an eco-criminal as well.

Compressor went down on that same tank one summer. Had to drop the owner’s boy in thru the hatch to bucket out the resultant strangely-colored cottage cheese. We were likely guilty of endangering a minor and we didn’t have a confined space permit either.

At least the hogs ate good that time.

While my fireplace blazed on a spare the air day, I knocked over a container of milk while attempting to change mercury filled light bulb.

Were you, perhaps, smoking a cigar while engaged in a CFL removal exercise? And was your SUV idling in the driveway?

Another sure sign of a domestic extremist according to DHS Lexicon. I bet you are also one of those pro-lifer, Second Amendment nuts, and probably even a veteran to boot.

Power... that is what this is all about. It isn’t about public safety. It isn’t about environmental protection (hey - what is the EPA SUPPOSE to stand for????) - it is about power, particularly power in the hands of leftists.

If you can’t rule by the ballot box and Constitutional means, then swing the battle sword of hyper regulation by a rogue agency of the Federal Government.

I would hate to be the next REpublican to be elected to the Oval Office - because the mess to clean up will be the worst ever found.

And to be quite honest - if the Republican majority in the House, and the large minority in the Senate don’t grow a MASSIVE backbone and STOP Obama’s radical agenda, and actually start undoing some damage - we may NEVER recover - economically or Constitutionally...

“While my fireplace blazed on a spare the air day, I knocked over a container of milk while attempting to change mercury filled light bulb. Both the city I live in and the county have now been declared a disaster area.”

I’m sorry, there’s no more money for Superfund sites. You’ll just have to move.

The schools will have to have them continually on site in case of food fights.

EPA's rules on oil spills stem from inferences drawn from legislation designed initially to prohibit boaters from dropping trou and defecating in sight, sound and smell of vactioners at the beach along federal waterways.

Now that they've come around to spilt milk I do believe they've gone too far.

A House investigation is needed! Time to bring in some of those old cows and see what they've got eh!

Oh yeah. I’m hoping they’ll end the EPA once and for all. They’ve gone totally around the bend.

In the old days, they would run the hogs in the lot and barn if need be to clean up after the cows. (Think corn and human digestion).

FDA or USDA or someone put a stop to that efficient use of resources; can’t be a grade A dairy if you run hogs behind cattle.

We fed grain in the milk barn to get the cows in and they wasted a lot. Used to have the owner’s boy shovel it up for me to take home to my hogs. I made him think I was taking it home to my kids- I told him “be careful and don’t get too much sh_t in it or my kids won’t eat it”.

Yep, that’s in the our Constitution too, along with 3-gallon flushes, seatbelts, penumbras, privacy, abortions, sodomy, light bulbs, etc. Tis’ truly amazing what one can find with this living, breathing, adapting document. Next thing you know, they’ll find a federal reason to push salad bars in our schools . . . oh, wait, they DID find that in our Constitution! Silly me!
