Did anyone really doubt that the Chicago fix was in all along? The Illinois Supreme Court just announced a 5-2 decision to allow Rahm Emanuel on the ballot for the February 22 Chicago mayoral election. Earlier today, former IL Republican Gov. Jim Thompson and other members of the state GOP establishment came out in favor of giving the former Obama ballot access.

“Pathetic, a 7-0 decision in his favor. So, any one who takes a job in DC, for however long, can go back where they came from to ruin that place too. What if Daley retired a year from now or 2014? This is ridiculous. Are we all entitled to dual residency or multiple residencies? Can you just run for mayor anywhere that you can buy a house or property.”

Now, Now, The Il. Supreme Court was purchased fair and square. Some phone calls were made to each of the seven to remind them of their obligations. The scum sucking commie WILL be mayor, The WH and the Unions that own it will make sure of that.

I see Hillary buying a home in Chicago.

Here's a nice neighborhood for Black Panther defender Hillary to move to. She helped defend them in a murder trial back in the 70s.

Among Rahm, Braun and Chico, who would you vote for? And “none of the above” is not an option. ;)

Anyone who had any doubt about the outcome of this has no idea how Illinois functions.

Actually there is Illinois and then there is Chicago. Illinois is a great state and pretty conservative to boot. Beating the Chicago machine was always hard, but now is impossible.

I thought the issue at hand was that the address he claimed as a “residence” was being rented out to SOMEBODY ELSE. Can’t claim where you don’t live. Slumdog millionaire or not.

Like I was saying it was a civil rights issue ~ the rights of the people of Chicago were paramount.

Every person resident in Chicago has a Constitutional right to accept the call to public service with the President in Washington DC ~ WITHOUT PENALTY!

This is a federal republic, not a mobocracy in South America or something.

Why is Chicago even spending the money on an election. Just put Rahmbo in office and in a week no one will notice.

It would’ve been poetic justice if Rahm would’ve been disqualified since Obama won his first election by systematically having all of his rivals, including the incumbent, kicked off the ballot on technicalities.

It honestly makes practical sense for Emanuel to remain on the ballot.

(The votes have already been counted.)

LOL! May I plagarize you?

Not to be supportive of Rahm, but it would seem to me that if one is elected to Congress as a representative of a certain district that one would have to be a resident of that district - whether you own a house there or not you are representing the district.

Then you further take a job on the Staff of the POTUS - after appointment to same. So logic would dictate that you should be able to maintain residency.

After serving 20 years in the military, owning no property in the state I enlisted from, and my parents having moved to another state 2 years after I enlisted I kept my residency in that state.

One seems to be very similar to another.

I don’t really care anymore.

We get the government we deserve.

The people of Chicago have elected thugs and corrupt politicians for years. If people there are stupid enough to put up with this kind of crap then maybe it’s what they want or need. Seems to me Rahm is made just for them. If they elect him, then they get what they deserve. May Chicago go the way of Detriot.
