If the US Airforce did all airline food, it would be strawberries dipped in dark chocolate and grilled chicken salads all round.
Unfortunately this luxury is reserved for top US politicians alone, as new documents detailing Nancy Pelosi's travel expenses reveal.
The former House Speaker was showered with a cornucopia of gourmet food and alcohol as she travelled over 90,000 miles around the world in just nine months last year - all courtesy of the US Airforce (USAF).
On one overseas excursion, her office even wrote to the USAF asking for strawberries dipped in dark chocolate as a birthday treat.
The documents, uncovered by political corruption watchdog Judicial Watch, reveal that the US taxpayer was billed for $101,429 (£64,000) in Mrs Pelosi's in-flight services over a period of two years.
One internal Air Force email sent on March 25, 2010 said: 'The speakers office is requesting egg salad sandwiches on wheat toast with fruit (watermelon, etc) for desert [sic].

We have to go to English papers to read these stories.
Amazing. You know, I’m sure our founding fathers would be amazed to see the devolution of the American press.
The media in the USA is ignorning their core responsiblity: to be a watchdog on the government.
This would be a great idea for a daily blog: "Things You Won't Find the American Media". Honestly, how many times has information been posted in the foriegn press that gets completely ignored in the American press?
Today’s Worst Person in the wor.....oh....nevermind.
Thank God for the Daily Mail!
All 90,000 miles.
Exposure is what Elitists fear the most including Zero. That is why Whitman and Carly lost. They didn’t have the spine and guts to expose Moonbeam and Boxer. Conservative Republicans have to climb in the RAT and RINO gutters and fight. Nice guys come in last!
Speaker of the House is a big deal.
Chief of Staff, from a security standpoint, is a bigger deal.
I’ll never forget what they did to John Sununu for MUCH less.
These people say they are working in service to the people while they are serving THEMSLVES! So many perks while in office and when they leave they get huge pensions.
Just what have they contributed, but more DEBT?
We have all sat and watched this train wreck and done nothing.....
We need to strip them of all these perks and take back the power. If we don’t, then we get what we deserve.
Ramirez does it again!
Let them eat strawberries
We should demand she write a check to the American people. That classless toad.
This really doesn’t bother me so much. We are running trillion dollar deficits and risking the economic collapse of the USA, and I’m supposed to get all worked up over Pelosi spending a hundred grand on military flights? If we had to pay millions to keep her airborne permanently, it would be worth it if she’d stay away from Congress for good. Shoot! I’d buy her a box of chocolate covered strawberries myself if she’d retire.
Rock Stars get perks on tour by supplying the venue managers with lists of stuff that must be provided gratis at their shows backstage dressing rooms. I guess Pelosi thinks she should too..........
Come on America . .wake up to this hypocrites and throw them out
The media in the USA is ignorning their core responsiblity: to be a watchdog on the government.
That’s ony in a Republician administration. I hope everyone wakes up to the liberal media stations and tunes them out thus making their ratings what they should be 0.
The woman can afford to buy her own bleeping strawberries with her own bleeping money.
