By Danny Yadron Republican congressional leaders say they have no problem with Minnesota Rep. Michele Bachmann giving a response to President Barack Obamas State of the Union address Tuesday night. But they point out shes not delivering the partys official reaction That privilege was given to Wisconsin Rep. Paul Ryan, one of Congresss biggest budget hawks. House Speaker John Boehner and Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell announced Mr. Ryan on Friday, and hours later, Ms. Bachmann, a favorite of the tea party crowd, said she would give her own response, live-streamed on the Tea Party Express website. The Bachmann speech wont start until Mr. Ryan finishes, a Tea Party Express spokesman said. Still, Ms. Bachmanns address underscores the division between the Republican establishment and the partys activist wing. We at the Tea Party Express felt that the tea party movement needed a strong voice in Washington, and to know that our views are being heard no matter what President Obama says in his address, the groups spokesman, Levi Russell, wrote in an email. At least parts of Ms. Bachmanns speech will be carried on network television. GOP Leaders: Bachmanns Speech Is Not the Partys Response

You know that the “official Republican Party resposnse will just be idiotic politics.
I think the citizens will be much more inclined to want to hear Bachmanns reply then some tired old canned political response.
Does that knee of yours jerk all the time like this? Paul Ryan is NOT a RINO and nobody ever sdaid that Michelle Bachman was speaking for the GOP. She’s not. She’s speaking for herself and certain members of the Tea Party.
This is true. People are creating conflict where none should exist.
Divisions that the MSM, WSJ and FOX included, are only all to happy to exacerbate! Don't be chumps people...the press is trying to manipulate us to destroy the Tea Party and weaken the GOP. Don't let them!
I for one am glad that Christie said NO. He’s not my kind of republican.
As for Ryan, I can’t tell you how much I admire the man.
Totally support Michelle Bachmann as well.
Bachmann can say what Ryan wont.
Can and will. Perhaps we’ll hear something about
“you don’t state your desire to fundamentally change something you love or support, like the values and traditions this country was founded on.”
Count me in with you guys. I am not listening to the SOTU, I will not listen to the GOP response, but I will listen to Bachman.
The GOP is damning conservatives with faint praise at best and is crossing the aisle and bein liberal lite at worst. They’ve in essence pushed conservatives and especially conservative Christians out of their “big tent” and I don’t care about re-entering.
I’ve said it before and I’ll repeat so hopefully they’ll get the message: I AM ONLY VOTING FOR CONSERVATIVES FROM NOW ON. JUST BECAUSE A PUBBIE IS BETTER THAN A RAT, DOESN’T MEAN THE PUBBIE WILL GET MY VOTE. I WILL WRITE IN SOMEONE WHO HOLDS MY VIEWS. SO IF YOU LOSE, IT WILL BE YOUR FAULT FOR NOT RUNNING A CONSERVATIVE.
To which “mealy-mouthed weasel” do you refer?
Rather an example of the “top down”, humanistic, elitist, collectivist approach vs the capitalistic, individualistic approach of a free people.
But it would send the biggest "Message" since Ross Perot. And get her LOTS of face time in the MSM.
Ryan will kick some serious butt. Can’t wait!!
I love Bachmann - but her speaking tonight is probably a mistake. She might dilute Ryan’s message and serve as fodder for the MSM.
After hearing Ryan tonight, conservatives may start calling for him to throw his hat into the ring for 2012.
You are going to hear 100 different commentators after the speech. Are you going to criticize them all for responding?
“As for Ryan, I cant tell you how much I admire the man.
Totally support Michelle Bachmann as well.”
Ditto!!!! ;-)
“Rush is on tonight”
...on TV?
I tend to toon into the different MSNBC shows and you are correct, they are already looking forward to Bachmann and are making a big deal of this. They are on the ‘Bachmann for President’ theme this week.
From what I have seen Bachmann has been more careful not to take their bait since the 2010 election. She is unlikely to call Obama a socialist in this response. Maybe she will say that it's the Tea party's job to keep Republicans (party) honest. I would like that.
Matthews is in a tizzy because Michelle said that we “Need to repeal Obama in 2012” on the house floor. Fun to watch Matthews act so shocked , he always says :” No one has ever done this before”
As for Ryan, I cant tell you how much I admire the man.
Totally support Michelle Bachmann as well.
Ditto!!!! ;-)
Double Ditto!!!! :)~
Bachmann BUMP.
call the speaker’s office folks....
Michelle will speak boldly to the cause of Liberty. She will go at Obama in a way Ryan will not. Both responses will be good, but Michelle's will be the one remembered. The left will crazy, but I would say, bring it on.
For our Republic to survive, the left must be totally destroyed. (politically)
