How quickly they forget. Those who helped him can quickly remove their support, financial and otherwise. Next candidate, please step up!

Was only a matter of time. The “Good Old Boys” club kicks in pretty quick when they get up there. Rubio’s another tragedy of the powerful in DC.

Trying to be “one of the boys”(and girls). How does one term Rubio sound?

From what I read of the statement above,
he’s saying that the Tea Party must remain grassroots
and not run by politicians in DC.

I don’t disagree.

I admire Marco Rubio. That admiration is based on things that I agree with and that he has said in the past. It may be (and I place emphasis on the word “may”) that, now that the election has passed we will begin to see a Rubio we’ve not known before. He may not fully understand the Tea Party movement and is still in the learning phase of his development. Time will tell.

He says thanks, but no thanks. I had concerns about Rubio when he came out against Arizona’s immigration law.

Hopefully, he will not be as bad as the Senator he replaced.

I don't believe anything that comes out of CNN, however, if this is true, then there is definitely a conspiracy of Power Elitists.

To switch from Tea Party supporter to Tea Party Agnostic in less than 2 months, means that there is some nefarious activity converting people from populists to elitists.

And if this is true, the day the Tea Party is accepted in Washington is the day it becomes obvious it is corrupted.

A story from CNN cannot be called "accurate"..
Not that you can be everywhere at once anyway..
I doubt that Rubio is anti-TpCaucus in the least..

More likely this is CNN "spin".. or even propaganda.. or disinformation..
Without the TpCaucus Rubio would not even BE THERE,,

Not quite what he said.

“If all of a sudden being in the Tea Party is not something that is happening in Main Street, but rather something that’s happening in Washington D.C., the ‘Tea Party’ all of the sudden becomes some sort of movement run by politicians,” Rubio said.

I’m in agreement with him.

So what?

Yes indeed! It’s all about how they vote anyway.

This story is purposely constructed to demoralize those that supported tea party candidates. We’ll be seeing a lot of ‘propaganda’ like this during this Congress. Lies with just enough truth to make them sound convincing.

Just keep the faith and your eyes on the prize.

I tend to agree with Rubio. If the Tea Party is going to be in DC, it will likely be just as open to special interests and corruption as the R’s and D’s. The Tea Party needs to be kept local to hold elected officials accountable.

(tells Tea Party to get lost) The comments here like that are missing the point. The DC Senate based Tea Party Caucus isn't the tea party. It's a group of politicians and senators calling themselves tea party because they think it gives themselves an advantage.

There are several tea party groups out there. There's about five of them within a twenty minute drive of me, and I'm on the outskirts of Ann Arbor. These are locally based groups of citizens who don't like what's going on.

I care about one thing. Marco Rubio's voting record. No more, no less.

“The freshmen senator who won a three-way race in November against independent Gov. Charlie Crist and Democratic Rep. Kendrick Meek, said the power of the Tea Party comes from its “ability to drive the debate and issues from the grassroots up, as opposed to from the politicians down.”

Tell me what he said was wrong.

I don’t get it. Is Rubio stating that DeMint, Paul and Lee are your normal run of the mill DC Politicos. Seems to me the intent of this grassroots movement was to impact the way things are done in DC and in order to accomplish that it wouldn’t be a bad idea for the TP members to caucus.

Right now I worry more about Rubio than I do those other three.

Put your knee back down- it jerked. You might want to read the articles you post. Rubio is saying the tea party is a grassroots movement, not a political group in DC. He’s correct.
