T. PETERSBURG - Three law enforcement officers were shot this morning a U.S. Marshal and two St. Petersburg police officers in the 3700 block of 28th Avenue South, police said.
A suspected gunman is barricaded in a home at 3726 28th St. S., and police are trying to negotiate with his family members. He is still shooting at police, officers said.
One of the injured officers had been in the home as well, but an armored vehicle knocked down the door and the officer was evacuated. That officer has been taken to Bayfront Medical Center.

Not a peep from the perp in well over 2 hours. Maybe he’ll be well into advanced decomposition when they remove his sorry ass from the building.
They did use tear gas and had robots tearing out two sides of the house. I don’t know if that did any good. They showed Florida Progress disconnecting the power to that house. At least now we know the power company can show up on time when called - I did not know that. I just keep paying the ever higher bill each month.
How horrible! What grade are these kids and what part of town do they live in?
You're a brave man to be teaching there.
Perp may have shot 40 rounds into cop #1 in the attic. Imo, the US Marshall probably turned around at that point which is why he was shot in the leg. I don’t blame the US Marshall for retreating. That attic was a horrific trap.
Less than three weeks ago, the police chief in tiny Rainier, OR, was shot and killed with his own while struggling with a suspect. Sickening.
Local stations are going back to regular programming except for http://www.baynews9.com.
Reporter says: The police are taking action, trying to get into the home, fired a round of shots, now the FBI is trying also to get into the home. A lot of activity, FBI, Swat Team, planning to tear the house down if they had to. They did not want another officer hurt or killed in this incident. "tragedy". (looks to FV they're hiding behind police cars right now - I would too). Officers are walking back and forth w/helmets on, guns strapped onto their chest, neighbors still waiting to find out what's going on. Round of gunshots, pause, another round of gunshots, looks like they are going to tear the house down. They are gonna go in there to get their man.
On the scene: DHS, FBI, Swat, Hummer w/full armor, ramming vehicle.
Perp should have been in PRISON. Hydra Lacy, Jr. 39 year old registered sex offender, false imprisonment of child, battery of LEO, six foot 4" tall, 294 lbs. Suspect was estranged from his wife. This was his wife's house, she tried to get police to stop him from abusing her. Bay Newns 9 is interviewing sis-in-law. Sis-in-law is white woman. We have bi-racial couple.
I don’t know if they’ll be any repercussion for Harmon.
Like the list above, last cop killed was 1980, before that 1967.
Harmon isn’t in charge of the individual assignments, I do think whoever sent in just 2 (maybe 3) officers to take into custody this guy will come under scrutiny. Maybe it’s the Marshall’s office that makes the call...the SPPD were just along to assist the Marshall.
Traffic stops that’s always risky. See my last post up there. His wife was trying to get him to leave her alone. So, did this go to DCF instead of LE? Go to LE when it was too late? I don’t know. I type rhetorical questions.
Janet Napolitano? Eric Holder?
It's not just in FL. but across our nation. Criminals have no fear of justice when there is none...and naturally become more brazen. Why wouldn't they? There are some prisoners who commit crimes just to take their winters inside a cozy jail cell! They know the system so well they can play it to their advantage and do just that.
Now they have released the 9-11 call from the cops to 9-11. It's really scary. Yep, Cop #1 got all those rounds at close range in the attic. I just heard the 9-11 call to try to get the cops out. Chilling.
Interesting, early on they said it was the Marshall that went up first, guess that wasn’t the case.
Wow. I live near Jacksonville, which has a pretty hefty crime rate and a huge juvenile thug problem, but it sounds like the Tampa area is even worse.
Earlier report stated Bayfront Medical Center is in critical need for O Neg blood. Then the newsies say don’t go to Bayfront to donate blood. Eeesh. The blood bank should have two vehicles parked in front of the hospital to receive donations at this point.
Good place to live.....:o)
I am trying to type verbatim unless it’s imo. They are going to launch a “big shooting investigation”. I bet there are hundreds of bullets casings. The most chilling is the 9-11 call from a cop asking for backup. If cop 1’s gun was taken, I wonder if he got any shots off. If not, it was like Bonnie & Clyde scenario. They are showing earlier footage right now hearing shots being fired.
Murdered cops: 1. Jeff Yazlowatz (deceased) and other name inaudible.
Crime is horrible in pockets here. I think St. Pete’s got a high rating for crime stats. Tampa’s bad but St. Pete’s worse at this time.
Low, south st pete has a certain demographic but most are probably natural born citizens who have spent half their lifetime in some kind of correctional institution.
I listen to our Orange and Seminole scanners sometimes over here in Orlando- just found the one for St Pete...sounds like they’re getting ready to do something at the scene:
