That size of a bomb would have taken out the airport and left one hell of a crater.
One eye witness who was in a restaurant 100 meters away said that plaster was falling in that area soon after the initial blast.

“You dont have to go through security to get to the baggage claim areas at the airports Ive been to. A suicide bomber could access this area with no problem.”
I understand that. I thought I read earlier reports that it was in a “secure” area.

The international arrival baggage area would be a lot harder for a bomber to access than domestic which, as you say, would be quite easy.

Your estimate is correct according to what is now being reported. Approximately 15 lbs of explosives.

Russia called the attacker (s) Islamist Militants.
The very horror! Did they not get Obama’s memo?
overseas contingency operation
The above Obama ordered phrase is not only bizarre and PC it is makes it sound like Obama is on the contingency’s side.

Correct. In some countries, you pick up your baggage and go through security checkpoints, at random. You’re still in a “secure” area. I am not familiar with DME, but that’s one place that was next on my list of pleasure travel destinations.

Myth. Hezbollah and AQ have a long history of cooperation that includes Khobar Towers and 9/11.

Yeah but it’s funny because it could be true.

This is ghastly. And I wish people on FR threads wouldn’t joke about it. When you look at the photos, there are literally bodies piled up against the wall, debris (some is probably body parts) and fires everywhere, and it’s sure not something we’d want to see in any of our airports ever.
It said this happened in the international arrivals area, so I imagine the Muslims just joined the crowd that would have been standing around the exit door waiting for friends or family to arrive. What an evil “religion” that is.

Myth. Hezbollah and AQ have a long history of cooperation that includes Khobar Towers and 9/11.There have been some firefights between AQ affiliated groups and Hezbollah in Lebanon recently.
