COPPERMAN
While walking through San Francisco's Union Square recently I ran into COPPERMAN. He is a street entertainer, a young actor in copper paint from head to toe, who sits motionless as people walk by on the busy street. Many stop, awe-struck to see this statue-like man. You cannot even see him breathing. People leave contributions in his copper pot in appreciation for this fine "performance??"
COPPERMAN sits for 25 minutes at time and then takes a break. During the break he is quite animated and eagerly shares his story with his audience. He told us that it actually strains every muscle in his body trying to keep still for so long. As the clock slowly ticks, time becomes agonizing as his muscles cry out in pain, wanting the relief of moving about. In fact, about ten minutes into the "gig" you can see perspiration beads starting to streak down his face, marring the unusual make-up. The streaking becomes more noticeable and at the end of the 25 minute routine, COPPERMAN explodes off his seat and looks as if he is ready to collapse with exhaustion. Every day is like running a marathon he said. The strain on the body from sitting still, and the mental exhaustion that goes with it, are incredible. This is not a fun job.
I have met many people who wished for the day when they could retire and "just do nothing." They dreamed of a life of complete leisure, not having to work for a living, nor having any responsibilities. Like COPPERMAN, they contemplated a life without having to move about very much. But these people did not realize that having nothing to do can be fun for a few days, or even weeks, but after that the strain of inaction can be overpowering. Let us never have it as our goal to sit like COPPERMAN. KEEP YOUR MIND, HEART AND SPIRIT MOVING! One of the greatest human cravings is the yearning to feel needed, useful, wanted. We must always contribute our unique talents to our families, our Marine Corps & Navy and the world around us. Let us all give freely of our God-given talents and bless others with those great gifts!

When I lived up north I had a beard.
You would think that would be great in that sort of weather, but in less than 5 min you where wearing a beadrcicle from your breath.
Wasn’t really a problem till you came inside and then... drip.. drip.. drip

I think if I turned the key today, she would say:
“I don’t wanna start,
I don’t wanna start,
I don’t wanna start,
I don’t wanna start.

Nope,... but I did get complimented Monday when I got indoc’d back into you know what; by the woman in her 30s doing the indoc on how young I look. She couldn't believe that I was born in 49 and went active duty in 72.

No heater core?
I once borrowed my brothers 71 Mustang fastback on a cold winter day while on leave from the navy.
Didnt start her till 2:30 AM.
She fired right up, but the oil was so sludgy due to temps that the pump shaft sheared.
God, I felt just awful.
We never spoke to one another about it again LoL
