MSNBC and Keith Olbermann have ended their contract. The last broadcast of Countdown with Keith Olbermann will be this evening. MSNBC thanks Keith for his integral role in MSNBCs success and we wish him well in his future endeavors.
Any chance we could see reruns in syndication up the road. lol
“Damn...sounds like Olbermann didnt even have a chance to steal any office supplies...”
I still feel guilty about the stapler I took and I retired a long time ago. :-)
If as a citizen he wants to donate to an individual candidate, that small amount of money would have almost no effect. I knew a journalist many years ago who was an outspoken champion of all things liberal, but chose not to vote in elections so he wouldn't appear to be 'biased'. He might have been the only person who didn't get how silly that was...
I suspect the network is feeling more than a little guilt about the liberal bias that runs through every news show they have - and this type of 'illusion trumps reality' might be comforting. Also, in their own little world, it might be the only thing that gives the illusion they're less biased than FOXNews - which allows citizens who happen to work for their network to make donations to politicians.
I wish Tim had been on the air when I lived in LA. I’ll have to catch his show online. And, he’s a conservative?
If MSLSD wants to make money, they need to compete with Fox on the right. Jettison the entire lineup and every producer and just start over.
Imagine a true conservative line-up, which would not only compete with Fox but probably kick Fox’s middle of the road lineup.
Give Mark Levin an hour a day on the Constitution
Coulter & Malkin point/counterpoint.
Bring back Laura Ingraham
NRA TV news
Sirius/XM hour with Wilkow, Church and Boortz
See if Rush wants another shot at TV
Keep the morning Shmoe as the only liberal, and as another poster suggested, let Mika do the news topless.
I know you're being facetious, but whenever someone is canned, it's considered bad form to throw rocks at them as they leave. I've seen quite a few people canned, and unless they're led out in handcuffs, the official explanation is "we thank them for their services..."
Also, it's very common for TV personalities to get fired. Coaching is probably the only profession with a shorter shelf life. Despite his ratings, Limbaugh would have been canned probably five or six times if he wasn't independently syndicated.
LOL!
OMG,I just returned to my laptop noshing away on a bowl of Brigham’s Coffee Ice Cream and saw your post.
It wasn’t pretty !!!! :-)
If Fox picks up Uglyman then I am finished with FOX.
Maybe “Countdown” was considered un-PC, associating with the countdown of a ballistic missile, thus a reference to a violent weapon, or maybe they confirmed Keith’s brain matter was found in the vicinity of his lower intestine.
I'd like to know how MSNBC defines success. Aren't they the lowest rated cable network in the known universe?
Maybe that was the point.
The other possibility is that they've decided to start a professional news organization. Sorry... of course that's ridiculous... not sure what I was thinking.
Finally, finally rid of this obnoxious socialist pig.
I doubt that would go over very well with Fox viewers>
CNN, Sirus XM or going back into sports broadcasting would seem more likely options.
Sorry... of course that's ridiculous...
It most certainly is .. LOL
Someone upthread said that their wife works for Comcast in their gov't liaison wing, and that they're as left-wing as any media org.
MSLSD will remain just as lefty as ever, but perhaps they'll find someone a bit less bombastic to fill Keith's spot. I have a feeling that the new owners understand that they can improve their ratings by losing the nutbags, and replacing them with a more 'nuanced' crew.
Same message - lower key.
WOO HOO! However, I wonder where he'll turn up next... nowhere I hope, including ESPN or any of the sports networks - especially the MLB Network!
Can you imagine tuning in to watch the Yankees / Red Sox / whatever MLB team - and up pops OlberIdiot? Ugh...
I really hope Rachel Madcow is next to go... followed by Ed Schultz.
If true, I’d say everything. Gosh, I am coming to like Comcast.
Really tells a story, doesn't it? I hope Chrissy Matthews, Rachel MadCow and Ed Schultz are shaking in their boots right about now, LOL.
And Anderson Vanderbilt Cooper's ratings? I had no idea they were that low!
No........ don’t you know the story behind Olberman’s vendetta against Fox?
