Though it is embarrassing to admit this in public, I can no longer hide the truth. I have a Sarah Palin problem.
I have written about her in 42 columns since Sen. John McCain picked her as his presidential running mate in 2008. I've mentioned her in dozens more blog posts, Web chats, and TV and radio appearances. I feel powerless to control my obsession, even though it cheapens and demeans me.
But today is the first day of the rest of my life. And so, I hereby pledge that, beginning on Feb 1, 2011, I will not mention Sarah Palin - in print, online or on television - for one month. Furthermore, I call on others in the news media to join me in this pledge of a Palin-free February. With enough support, I believe we may even be able to extend the moratorium beyond one month, but we are up against a powerful compulsion, and we must take this struggle day by day.
SNIP
And so I pledge to you: Sarah Palin's name will not cross my lips - or my keyboard - for the entire month of February. Who's with me?
Dana Milbank is an op-ed columnist for The Washington Post and the author of "Tears of a Clown: Glenn Beck and the Tea Bagging of America."
Note by Kristinn: The WaPo has a poll accompanying the article: "Post columnist Dana Milbank has pledged not to write anything about Sarah Palin for one month. Would you pledge not read or watch coverage of Palin for one month?" Yes; no; I'll try"

This douchebag actually wrote a "serious" political book using a homosexual sex act reference in the title?
The hypocrisy is sickening. If a middle school kid says something is “so gay” (meaning lame, not cool), they will be suspended for “bullying” and uttering “homophobic slurs”, but the Left Wing Media Pimp and the leaders of the Democrat Party can use a real slur about homosexuals against tens of millions of (straight) Americans everyday and get away with it.
Something to "hit", Laz.
I predict Milbank will mention Palin at least 2 dozen times in February. He'll just do everything he can to avoid actually using her name, and pretend that this keeps the letter of his pledge.
The only way he'd be able to keep his word in spirit would be to not file a column for the entire month. Which sounds like a good idea, to me.
She will fall off the wagon................
Probably next week.............
I’ll pledge not to read anything that Milskank writes, but not just for the month - for ever.
Could Warren Buffett’s departure from the comPost board brought a breath of sanity from that rag?
Dana is a man. He doesn’t write like one, or act like one, but he is.... nominally.
The next book I will read, then, will be Sarah’s latest one. Dana Milbank can KMA.
LOL! Not a chance in heck Dana. You need her much more than she needs you.
My name is Dana Milbank and I am a Palinaholic. I promise to not to write any more columns about Sarah Palin. I begin this abstinence by writing a column about Sarah Palin.
And so I pledge to you: Sarah Palin’s name will not cross my lips - or my keyboard - for the entire month of February.”
Do us a favor and include food and water in your pledge and I will donate to your favorite charity in your name. (Just a joke for you politically correct civility monsters.)
That poll needs a good FReeping - 54% say yes, 34% say no! Those numbers should not stand.
Democrats?
"Sarah Palin is ICKY!
Now I'm off to see Liza, I so loved her in Cabaret!"
Well now... that’ll dry up their sources of subject matter. I wonder who they’ll slander during their “Palin-Free Month?”
Bye, Dana!
