CNN's John King is attracting a lot of notice -- and some ridicule -- in the blogosphere for his on-air apology after a guest used the word "crosshairs" during a report on Chicago politics Tuesday. (The guest, a former Chicago reporter, referred to two rivals of mayoral candidate Rahm Emanuel, saying Emanuel is "in both of their crosshairs.") "We were just having a discussion about the Chicago mayoral race," King told viewers. "My friend Andy Shaw
used the term 'in the crosshairs' in talking about the candidates out there. We're trying, we're trying to get away from that language. Andy is a good friend, he's covered politics for a long time, but we're trying to get away from using that kind of language. We won't always be perfect, so hold us accountable when we don't meet your standards."

If it were not for double-standards, the Left would have no standards at all.
And while on the subject, when is CNN going to change the name of their program CROSSFIRE?

Good one. :)

If it was 180, you’d be looking at his 6.
Talk about Ewwwwww! Is that what you want? ;)
Think how far we have come from Kentucky riflemen being credited with winning the Battle of New Orleans.
Let’s pacify even our language to ensure we never win a war again.
BTW the citizenry losing its ability to fight at arms IS one of the causes of the decline and fall of the Roman Empire
Ewwwwww. I’m sorry I posted!! I know what I meant but it really doesn’t read well, LOL.
Have the genius’s who are whining about a Cross-hair, or a Target come up with some other non-offensive indicator to show an area where to focus attention, or to measure some goal?
How about an icon of a piece of cheese? For these are not Men we are talking about, rather nothing but Mice.
Where is that screen capture (I think it was CNN) asking for snipers with the image of Bush? Or do I disremember that?
Yeesh - will someone please let me know when the left has finally settled on the complete list of words I’m allowed to use and those I’m not allowed to use?
I suppose I can’t hope that the GOP decimates the Democrats in the next election. But is it okay if I tell someone the Packers annihilated the Falcons last week? Am I allowed to nuke my frozen dinner? I could go on and on . . .
They’re democrats, so no one will call them on their hypocrisy.
If that means I don’t have to look at his 12, then hell ya. Everytime he’s talking it’s like I’m looking at his 6 anyway.
I always thought it meant he was such an idiot he just ran around in circles, or perhaps he likes to be the hub in the circle.
