PALIN: Well, on this day, celebrating the legacy and the life of Martin Luther King, Jr., we would be well to remember one of his famous quotes. He had reminded listeners that a lie cannot live. And I believe that not in every situation, it's just going to be providence that sheds light on what the truth is. We have to do our part, also.
So, in a situation like we have just faced in these last eight days of being falsely accused of being accessory to murder, I and others need to make sure that we, too, are shedding truth -- shedding light on truth so that a lie cannot continue to live. Because if a lie does live, then, of course, your career is over, your reputation is thrashed and you will be ineffective in what it is that you are trying to do.
So, I will continue to speak out. They're not going to shut me up. They're not going to shut you up or Rush or Mark Levin or Tea Party patriots or those who, as I say, respectfully and patriotically petition their government for change. They can't make us sit down and shut up. And if they ever were to succeed in doing that, then our republic will be destroyed. Not necessarily me being sat down and shut up, but having the voice of respectful dissent being shut up. That would destroy our republic.

Next comes the criticism of her for defending herself.
She looked very understated, she should have IMO come out with sleeves rolled up for a fight.
I saw it. I like her, but the interview sounded more as a speech. At some point, she’s going to have to start doing interviews with some of the people who hate her.

Palin met her whacko critics head on. She did a fine job, and also showed that she has the mettle to take the battle to the left and to her insane detractors.
One thing that strikes me about the insanity of her hateful critics. They share the same insane mind set as Loughner did in his hatered-fixation for Gabrielle Giffords. Its the same form of madness that Loughner had, and which moved him to perpetrate the tragedy in Arizona.
It is striking that no one in the MSM or even the conservative media has made this astute, GENUINE observation.
We need legislation against that form of hate speech by the left!!!!/s Notice she would never even think of this as a solution. She is that dedicated to free speech.
Well as a consequence of this whacko accusation she is a cause of the Arizona tragedy, Governor Palin and her family receive death threats daily by telephone, e-mail, and snail mail. DO you hear her jumping ship? Do you hear her begging the Secret Service for security? Governor Palin is proving herself to be a geuine warrior, uncowed, brave, and dedicated, in addition to all of her other positive, patriotic qualities.
When she declares herself as a candidate she will qualify for secret service protection, an interesting thought.With Obama as president would they be truly trustworthy? I have my doubts about that.I would volunteer for her security detail in a heartbeat.Many of us would take a bullet for her.Many of us would be happy to be in her security detail, and carry as experts with the will to protect her.
All she needs do is say the word.

She would be unconscionably foolish to do that without a full security team. She will soon have one after she declares her candidacy, and then you will see your wish come true. She receives death treats daily. Of course. When the story can’t be twisted to portray Palin as some extreme right wing zealot or crass ogre, its about how she is on the “defensive.” Its no exaggeration that the MSM uses ever single national story to make her look bad or bring her down. I’d say it makes me hate them even more but I don’t think I can hate them any more than I already do.

I get the impression that Palin gets it too. The dems drag her out to pound her because it takes the attention away from Obama and his destruction. We need to quit playing into their game. Enough!
We really need to focus on what Obama is up to, instead he gets by while all the focus is on defending her. Nobody would like being in that position.
I think the GOP pundits and other candidates need to say “hey, I am here to talk issues, not about the foolish unfounded hype of the left to distract us from our jobs”.
