What took them so long? Most of the Russians are very very smart.
How do I know? Because they tell you - constantly.
And these people lived under it so they know first hand. A couple of Christmas’ ago I helped deliver some food baskets to some Ukrainian immigrants, the lady in the apartment knew only a few words in English. She cried and just said “love America, love America”.

Here where I work in New Jersey we had a guy working with us who was from the former Soviet Union. Once while I was having a political debate with a democrat co-worker in the office he stood up and started backing me up telling my democrat co-worker that the democrats were just like the communists in Russia. It was classic. My Marxist democrat co-worker did not how to respond after that.
I remember an observation made some years ago whose author’s name now escapes me—maybe Thomas Sowell or Walter Williams?: (paraphrased) “What do you think the socialists and communists in the U.S. did when the Soviet Union collapsed? Recognize the error of their ways and start voting Republican? No, they decided to infiltrate the major political party most consistent with communist goals—the Democrats—and use it to carry their agenda forward.”
Democrats = Communists

LOL. Maybe you think its absurd, honey, but the rest of us don't. There isn't a dime's worth of difference between the Dems and Communists when it comes to economic policy and wealth redistribution.
I learned to despise the bureaucracy while working inside it, and KNOW govt. is too sluggish, nepotism oriented, and huge to ever function well.
These 2 VOTED for Obama. They are truly pathetic and think they are God's gift to civilization, and have blown me off as a dimwit old lady--they are going to SAVE the world along with the Dems and Obama.
If you cannot tell me how to save it, give me the info to find it on the net.

Friends of mine are Russian Jews from Moscow and are ardent Republicans. My dtr and theirs have been friends since they were 6 y/o, at a time when the dtr didn’t speak English, it was funny seeing them play together and speak in each others language. My dtr learned some Russian and Ludmilla learned English. They were each others Matron of Honor at their weddings. We used to celebrate our holidays together until we moved.
They got a lot smarter in the 50's after history was re-written.
