Looking Behind the Mug-Shot Grin

TUCSON — Moments after the swirl of panic, blood, death and shock, the suspect was face down on the pavement and squirming under the hold of two civilians, his shaved head obscured by a beanie and the hood of his dark sweatshirt.

Deputy Sheriff Thomas Audetat, a chiseled former Marine with three tours in Iraq to his credit, dug his knee into the gangly young man’s back and cuffed him. With the aid of another deputy, he relieved the heroic civilians of their charge and began searching for weapons other than the Glock semiautomatic pistol, secured nearby under a civilian’s foot, that had just fired 31 rounds.

Well, well. I wonder why they didn’t give this article a headline like: “Actually, Loughner was a left-wing Bush-hater”?

Too close to home for comfort?

...and I studied grammar.

Aesop Fables Alice Adventures in Wonderland

That's an interesting lack of possessives omitted by someone that "studied grammar."

A few days later, during a meeting with a school administrator, Mr. Loughner said that he had paid for his courses illegally because, “I did not pay with gold and silver” — a standard position among right-wing extremist groups.

Ha ha. It is to laugh.

Yes the Democrats introduced, and escalated, the political rhetoric. Even without shred of evidence.

Now the hypocrites call for “civility” What a sorry bunch of whiners and losers.

NINE NYT reporters worked on digging up the murderer’s past and the only thing they could come up with to try to tie him to the “right wing” was that he thought debts should be paid in gold or silver.

They also glossed over the incident when he went bonkers over the anti-abortion poem.

There is also an off-hand comment he did not like women in positions of power. One could surmise that he might have been very anti-Palin. Look for the follow up from the NYT. Not.

"Well, well. I wonder why they didn’t give this article a headline like: “Actually, Loughner was a left-wing Bush-hater”?

Oh no. In fact, they specifically say on page one that he did it all because of a right-wing mentality:

"He became an echo chamber for stray ideas, amplifying, for example, certain grandiose tenets of a number of extremist right-wing groups — including the need for a new money system and the government’s mind-manipulation of the masses through language."

I had no idea that mind-manipulation of the masses through language was a big right wing issue - not to mention all of the other aspects of his character that were distinctly LEFT wing.

If you know the relationship between schizophrenia and marijuana, then the story of Loughner becomes a lot clearer. Here are the facts on schizophrenia and marijuana:

“Researchers in New Zealand found that those who used cannabis by the age of 15 were more than three times (300%) more likely to develop illnesses such as schizophrenia. Other research has backed this up, showing that cannabis use increases the risk of psychosis by up to 700% for heavy users, and that the risk increases in proportion to the amount of cannabis used (smoked or consumed).

Additionally, the younger a person smokes/uses cannabis, the higher the risk for schizophrenia, and the worse the schizophrenia is when the person does develop it. Research by psychiatrists in inner-city areas speak of cannabis being a factor in up to 80 percent of schizophrenia cases.”

“Professor John Henry, clinical toxicologist at Imperial College London said research has shown that people with a certain genetic makeup who use the drug face a ten times (1000%) higher risk of schizophrenia. “

“Without the effects of the drug [marijuana], such a person might live their whole life without ever experiencing mental health problems. It has been estimated, for example, that between 8% and 13% of people that have schizophrenia today would never have developed the illness without exposure to cannabis.”

http://www.schizophrenia.com/prevention/streetdrugs.html

The idea that marijuana is harmless is a myth. There are a lot of users that would like it to be harmless and have warped the public perception of it - just like libs do with so many other pet issues.

Please pass this on to people who might benefit. Thanks.

Even when I was in high school (long, long ago, way back in the 1960s), we used to joke about how pot-smokers would suddenly become paranoid. And they really did; it was very scary.

I have two pot smoking nephews. One believes the contrails are evil government experiments on people that make him feel sick from the chemicals. The other one has total Bush derangement syndrome and his own brand of physics.

After the Tucson thing I feel totally creeped out about them.

(I am glad they live far away in Portland Oregon.)

“In a nutshell, Jared Loughner is a Drug Abusing Bush Hating Atheist”

Perhaps, but his friends claim he was apolitical. He didn't listen to talk radio or watch TV. He had become a news isolationist in the last year.

He was nukkin futs!

They didn't dare leave that standing alone in there. They had to add this little nugget:

Mr. Loughner said that he had paid for his courses illegally because, “I did not pay with gold and silver” — a standard position among right-wing extremist groups

They are nothing, if not predictable.

The NY Times is worthless, partisan, propaganda. They don't actually say he's right wing. They say his crazy conspiracy's are also ones that the extreme right wing share and let the reader make the (incorrect) connection.

Mr. Loughner said that he had paid for his courses illegally because, “I did not pay with gold and silver” — a standard position among right-wing extremist groups.

I had the same reaction! They're still grasping for straws trying to connect Loughner to the right, when the evidence shows the opposite.

Yep. If there was the slightest connection between Loughner and any conservative group or figure, they would have led with it. They've got nothing. The entire leftist attack on Palin and the tea parties stands exposed as a grotesque and vicious lie.

Nope. And that was the 2nd time in the article that they delivered that basic message about currency and the right-wing.
