If that thing is really working (I doubt it) they are dead men walking. Saudis won’t let them live too long.

I’ve seen this type of stuff “just about ready to go commercial” for the past 20 years years.

In the lab they have done similar tests and obtained 400 times more out than in, but it produced explosions.

Not so good.

I'm not a big fan of government handouts and subsidies, but I tend to make an exception for cold fusion. It seems that this technology has been on the cusp for several years and -- IMO -- offers a lot more potential than wind or solar energy (which have also been on the cusp for years).

The US government has been throwing trillions of dollars at all kinds of things lately. Imagine what would happen if we poured a trillion dollars into cold fusion? For one thing, I think it would make the Middle East a far less important place. That's a payoff right there.

Reaction? Perhaps.
Fusion? No.
Fraud? Indubitably yes.

Andrea Rossi is listed as the inventor. He is also the primary operator of the http://www.journal-of-nuclear-physics.com/ website and forum, where the information about the technology is posted.

Buyer beware.

I remember when 60 Minutes did a big story on the “Bloom Box” which was supposed to be the next big thing. Haven’t heard much about it since.

Double Plus for the use of tinfoil in a free energy generator. The irony is quite nice.

they also claim to be going into production, expecting to have these available for purchase commercially within a year.

Well, I guess they'll make good on that claim within a year or so, or they won't.

Whatever. Fusion is taking two or more atoms and fusing them into a new atom typically defined by the the atomic number of the two combining atoms. The lack of discussion about the resultant element is disturbing. Also the lack of discussion about the wavelength or energy of the radiation is also worrisome. This defines the nuclear processes occurring, or it is the fingerprint of what has occurred.

Guess what they want next...FUNDING!

Very simple to prove/disapprove if independent testing is allowed. The device, based on the size in the picture, is one hell of a battery alone if it can produce 15KW for 24 hours.

“Cold Fusion” is in and of itself, a violation of the laws of physics. Heat is a byproduct of fusion. “Cold fusion” implies the absence of heart from fusion, which is a violation of Physics.

They also were unable to give the amount of heat “produced” in BTU terms. What the hell is “10KW” of heat? Watts are the measurement of units of power, not heat. This whole article reeks from consequential B.S.
