Democrat Diversion Strategy Succeeds Again
The American Thinker ^ | January 15, 2011 | Steve McCann

Posted on 01/15/2011 1:27:17 AM PST by Scanian

The Democrats and the Left have once again succeeded in their most well worn, time tested and effective tactic: diversion. For the past six days the country has been watching the spectacle of the Republicans and those on the right defending themselves from absurd and trumped up accusations.

This strategy has been so successful over the years that the Left and their allies in the media are now so emboldened that they will literally create any accusation out of whole cloth in the assumption that the Republicans in Congress and on the national stage, as they have in the past, will cower in a corner and pledge their undying fealty to "civility." Once they have done so, the Democrats and their allies will have the upper hand.

While this circus has been on the front pages, the need for this diversion becomes self-evident. The news and future prospects for the country and the world economy continue to worsen.

Global food prices have reached a nominal all-time high, surpassing the previous peak seen in 2007-08, when food riots rocked the poorer countries of the world. The consensus is that due to weather, demand and smaller inventories, the prices of the basic food commodities will surge even further. The cost of a barrel of Brent crude oil is approaching $100.00 and some estimates indicate it may hit as much as $120.00. All the futures prices of metals and other commodities vital to manufacturing are also nearing or exceeding all time highs.

What did I say last week? That he’d play the biggest healer since Oral Roberts passed. And then he’d make a smearing speech against Republicans at the first opportunity.

Well, he let the Tucson audience carry the partisan ball for him to some extent(yes, he sent out the advance men with the T-shirts and the rest)and then he followed up yesterday with a speech blasting Wall Street. The “GOP is evil” speech is coming up. Count on it. Rush says he’ll use the State of the Union to do it. I don’t think 0 will wait that long.

You are right-—pin everything on Obama and please fight fire with fire! No more “Mr. Nice Guy” stuff! Bush allowed them to make a laughingstock of him, we don’t need it to happen again.

I agree with the writer, in that it appears the left has hijacked our nation’s attention for now, by making this “civility” thing the topic of the day and taking our minds off of health care, the economy, the vicious rhetoric from the left, etc.

HOWEVER, Bill O’Reilly is taking a much different stance. The first half of his program last night was devoted to how the left have humiliated themselves this week with their over the top rhetoric, premature accusations against the right, etc.

I don’t know if he’s correct in his assumptions, but I like the way he totally turned the tables on the left and the rest of the media. Millions watch him, including independents and some on the left, and it’s good that he’s pushing the fact that the left “failed”, true or not.

And he’s even going after Sheriff Dumpkin, asking why, if Dumpnik KNEW that the rhetoric was charged, there was no police presence at Ms. Gifford’s rally. Good question!

If he repeats this narrative enough (and I think he will), maybe it will come true!

A temporary diversion that further diminishes their credibility.

As I post here all the time, about 2 million watch O’Reilly. 20 million still watch the network evening news broadcasts. And you know what kind of tripe they are serving up.

I think maybe about 7 mil watch O’Reilly (counting all three broadcasts) and maybe 15 - 20 mil watch the three broadcast networks in total, so yes, he’s at a disadvantage in that respect. But the people who DO watch him are typically political in nature, while those who watch the networks may be watching for news of a general nature.

True, he’s outnumbered, but he is influential, and I love this tactic he’s using. Hopefully it will catch on.

Ultimately the markets and economic forces win out. No amount of RAT agitation and propaganda can prevent it. We are facing a calamity of historic proportions: insurmountable debt, loss of competitiveness, choking off energy sources, stifling government regulation, taxing corporations into oblivion, out of control government expansion, corruption of monumental scale, crony capitalism, bankers controlling government policy, and a political elite that envisions control over every aspect of our lives as its only goal.

No amount of obfuscation can prevent the economic repercussions of our stupidity.

The DEATH OF AMERICA is now on the horizon. China, Russia, and middle east states are already planning our demise. Will we let RATS and RINOS do this to us?

Democrat Diversion Strategy Succeeds Again

Diverting attention to what lying scum socialists, communists and other lefties are hardly seems to be the results they'd want to achieve.

. . . and the news media ignored it all. It seems we are back in a similar time when the news was transmitted by the grape vine or drum beats or word-of-mouth. Thank God for talk radio and the internet!

That was half their purpose!

The left-—down-in-the-dumps since 11/2-—has been riding high again. And you know their fundraising has been good all week. That is standard for them: smear the right, take in big $.

Nobody is convinced much one way or the other these days. People largely have their minds made up except for a few squishy independents.

Between the way Reid hustled the pubbies during the lame duck and the orchestrated smears were flying throughout the media all week, the Dems did a very good job of putting the GOP on the defensive-—again.

When will we learn to start fighting fire with fire and put THEM on the defensive for a change?

That is Fantasyland stuff.

Nasty of crud works for them every time, one way or another.

They fire up their base, get them to cough up money, and get them into the streets.

They’ll need that heavily next year and smear tactics are what they’ll use to get it.

We need to give up the Pauline Kael thinking around here. Millions eat low-down tactics right up.

Instead of assuming a backlash, how about creating one by hitting the Dems right back with their own tactics. Only the TRUTH can work for us-—there is so much junk we can honestly talk about. No need to make stuff up like they do.

I believe in giving it back just as hard as they give it to us!

I am arguing PRECISELY against being like George Bush. I said already that Mr. Nice Guy tactics are no good.

It isn’t any mystical quality——they have 45%+ of America receiving government checks, 90%+ black support, 70%+ hispanic support and a history of making scare tactics work.

Just wait until the debt ceiling is debated and the “evil Republican” tactics are dragged out: “They want to take away your Social Security and Medicare,” blah, blah.

I advocate preemptory strikes. Buy time on the networks and discuss inflation, unemployment, national debt-—all the things that have gotten worse under Obama. Make the folks understand that things that affect their lives are worsening whiile the Dems play the usual political games.

See my point? Too much compalcency here and it isn’t warranted.

Not with the “sheeple,” it doesn’t. You have to appreciate how low down parts of out society have become.

All that is true...it is incumbent on the new RNC powers that be to get that message out. FACTS as opposed to smear attacks.

Let’s not let the Dhimmis define the debate this time.

But let’s slime the Democrats when they deserve it-—factually.

All the Left is doing is exposing their weakness and desperation

They only have two plays in their playbook. When they are out of power, they fabricate non-existent problems so they have something to run on in upcoming elections (homelessness, unemployment may be low but its because everyone has McJobs, the economy is the worst since Herbert Hoover, etc.

When they are in power, they divert attention away from real problems, caused by THEIR policies, by claiming their opponents are special interest groups (Big Oil, Big Pharma, Wall Street CEOs, etc), homophobes, racists, partisans, capitalist pigs that want to pollute the air and water and take away grandma's social security and medicine, while at the same time forcing her to eat dog food.

I also believe this is a good idea. I just do not at all buy into the hysteria and "we're DOOMED" rhetoric which, at the drop of a liberals claim of our party's demise, so quickly comes forth. The very idea the Left has some magical power to turn public opinion seems to indicate some here have forgotten the historical ass kicking they took just 2.5 months ago.

I am no wise arguing that we’re “doomed.” I am advocating that we need to FIGHT! Long and hard.

Because the power-hungry left never stops its attack.

On a national level, Republicans are at a disadvantage in getting their message out. RATS all get their talking points everyday. That also includes their de facto propaganda machine: TV, radio, newspapers. So RAT politicians don’t have to know anything—and most don’t. They just have to repeat the talking points—OVER AND OVE AGAIN. They know that the media will then help them. If they forget one of the talking points, Bob Schiefer or Like Russert or Chuck Todd or Eliot Spitzer or Wolf Blitzer or Cutie Couric will fill in the blanks. FACTS DO NOT MATTER TO RATS. Only the talking points.

Republicans on the other hand DO have to argue facts, becasue the only antidote to RAT talking points is TRUTH. But as we both know, using someone else’s PROPAGANDA MACHINE to get your own message out is a daunting, if not impossible task.

Look at what they did to Sarah Palin after the AZ shooting. They erected an alternate universe within hours of the first bullets being fired. Palin continues to take hits over it.

And now the bastards are requesting civility? After two years of DemonPass? Our response should be to continue win elections at the local and state levels. When we have enough power, dismantle the entire RAT superstructure. Overwhelming POWER is the only real and lasting counter to communism.

Another thing-—

You are so right about the folks-—only about 20% of America calls itself “liberal.” The problem for me is the 45% that receives government payments. I doubt that even half of those people consider themselves “liberal.” But many of them are dependent on government and therefore susceptible to Democrat scare tactics. We hear them every election season, though less in 2010 for some reason: “The dirty, stingy, greedy Republicans want to cut your checks. They want to eliminate Medicare.” Those are gross lies but old, vulnerable people are often frightened by them and will vote for the Democrats out of perceived self-preservation even when they might find the Dems morally repugnant.

It’s a challenge to beat somebody who uses scare tacticcs and offers goodies. But it can be done-—by hammering on the FACTS!

I have been saying since obama was elected, there are enough fools, idiots, and traitors that vote ti re-elect him in 2012.

Traitors to America elected obama in 2008. That pool has not diminished one whit since November 4, 2008. In paragraph one I included fools and idiots. The word traitor, in my opinion still covers them. They were fools[ed]to the extent that they believed that he cared for them and would give them the freebies he promised. The idiots? They also believed that he cares [ed] about them.

In 2012, he will use different versions of the plan he used in 2008 and they will be right back in the fold.

Following obama and Satan have the same endings. Both promise pots of gold at the end of the rainbow if one will only worship them. When one is either foolish or idiotic enough to worship them, all one finds at the end of same rainbowe is a pot of shit. And the destruction of one’s Soul.
