From Tritter: Michael Steele drops out of RNC chair race, saying: "It's very clear that the party wants to do something different." - NBC
Story developing....
Yep, the Tea Party kicked the black man out, didn’t they?
At least that’s the spin.
People are in the fever now, typing out their blogs saying that the racist tea-baggers forced Steele out.
These, of course, will be the same left-wing bloggers that have consistently mocked and blamed him....
He’s going to blame Tucson on Palin at his first opportunity.
Yeah, like maybe not pay any more bills to stripclubs.
Good riddance. I was really disappointed by his leadership.
IS THIS TRUE??????????????
YAHOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Steele will become another talking head on MSNBC.
Now that he is out from under the job, he will be free to be who he actually is. He will come out and trash the repubs and will be loved by the marxists. Opportunistic punk.
Bet on it.
This is really lousy news. Cino is the worst of the bunch, a flaming pro-abort, pro-amnesty liberal.
Obviously Da Boyz leaned on Steele to drop out, and probably told him who to endorse.
The Tea Party has zero input into this process. We will end up FAR WORSE than before, going into the most critical election of our lifetimes.
Yes, until you see the left wing apartchik they have to replace him.
Somehow, I do not doubt it.
Good.
He backed Cina. If she wins, NEVER vote for any Republican ever again.
Wow- Priebus is leading
I think he is the best of that list- outsider not lifelong insider
Here are the fourth-round results:
Wisconsin Republican Party Chairman Reince Priebus 58
Former Bush administration official Maria Cino 29
Incumbent Michael Steele 28
Former Missouri Republican Party Chairwoman Ann Wagner 28
Former Michigan Republican Party Chairman Saul Anuzis 24
In the third round of voting, Priebus was first with 54; Steele was next with 33; Wagner moved into third place with 32 votes; Cino received 28; and Anuzis got 21.
In the second round of voting, Priebus came in first with 52 votes; Steele was next with 37; Cino followed with 30; Wagner received 27; and Anuzis had 22.
Steele put up a strong showing in the first round. He took 44 votes, only one fewer than Priebus. Cino finished in third place, with 32 votes, while Anuzis received 24 and Wagner got 23.
WHAT DO WE KNOW ABOUT PRIEBUS?
OK let’s be civilized here
IF he dropped out graciously let’s PLEASE be magnanimous?
OK?
(as long as he does not come back to bad mouth us)
More tears are shed over answered prayers than ignored ones.
just sayin’
“It’s very clear that the party wants to do something different.”
You’re damn right...at least someone is getting the message!
Just wait for his book and it will be coming out in time to do “O” the most good. Bank on THAT!
I wouldn’t bet against it.
He was such a disappointment from his lackluster defense of all things conservative, to the stripclub fiasco, and then near the end of his term, whining about racism from within bringing too much pressure on him, he was an embarrassment.
Shoulda figured as Ehrlich’s right hand man. He really didn’t seem that bad though before he took the reigns of the RNC.
4:18 p.m. ET - Ballot round #5:
Priebus 67
Cino 40
Anuzis 32
Wagner 28
