Reader Joshua Jones, who lived through the Virginia Tech shooting rampage and attended the campus memorial where President Bush spoke, e-mails his response to the whooping and hollering during President Obamas memorial tribute to the Tucson massacre victims at the University of Arizona tonight:
Mrs. Malkin,
My background:
I was in the audience in Cassel Coliseum on April 17, 2007. I heard President Bush speak after a crazy b@st@rd (Seung-Hui Cho) shot up my college.
In a few days I would bury a man whom I had last seen when he came up to me the week earlier to congratulate me on my baptism and entry into the Catholic Church over Easter Weekend. It would be my first military funeral, but not my last.
His name was Matthew Joseph La Porte.
I was a sophomore member of the Virginia Tech Corps of Cadets (VTCC). Several of my friends and the woman I love most dearly were supposed to be in Norris Hall. Thankfully none of them were due to being late, ill, or simply choosing to skip classes. I was sequestered in the Pamplin College of Business building during the attack.
President Bush spoke for barely 10 minutes if that. He was solemn, dignified and respectful-although the microphone that broadcast into the rest of the coliseum was barely working and we could barely hear and understand him as a result-we got the point he made.
President Obamas disgusting attempt at what appears to be a political rally in the wake of a similar massacre is beyond reprehensible.
Joshua sends a video reminder that there are young people taking their cue from solemn adults who know how to act appropriately at a college campus memorial for victims of mass murder.

Why do we need the current administration? They do nothing but mock our traditions and values and tear down anything America stands for that is good.
Simply, they are not America.
I’m not convinced they are even human.
Yep. And look at all the Republican press and blogs praising Obama.
This week has shown me...it is time for a 3rd party..the American Party.
It is time hurt the Republicans.
Time for payback.
After Paul Wellstone’s memorial service was anyone expecting anything else in Tucson?

What an honorable contrast to the mockery we were subjected to last night...
I am watching a replay now and I’m amazed at how they are acting. Surprisingly, to me, Janet Napolitano and Eric Holder were the only appropriate speakers there giving readings from the Bible. The rest seems like some sort of pep rally.

Ummm, wonder where Obama’s Organizing For American got their idea for that t-shirt? could be this hate Republican company.
I'm not so sure, but that the college students were the only ones that would come out to see Obama. I think his base is very narrow, and that they had to hold this rally at a college campus because only the mushy brained, liberally indoctrinated students would show up to see Obama.
Did I read right? I thought I saw where Holder and Obama read from the Bible at this pseudo campaign rally. I must
be imagining it, because we all know that the “separation of church and state” disallows this. /sarcasm

They don’t act like it.
Party whoops at a commie massacre.
Any one else see a pattern here?
I missed it last night; watching the rerun now There’s only one term that fits this “commemoration:” BIZARRE!
TC
Clearly the people in the university auditorium are representative of Sheriff Dipstick’s constituents.
Speaker Boehner refused to attend the rally.
Please let him know you appreciate his refusal.
I watched several clips of 0bamas memorial speech on the morning new. It seemed more like a campaign speech to me.
I hate to say it, but last night’s memorial mourning was naught but a “new Hitler(Obama)rally”. Disgusting and a grievous insult to those innocents that were slain and muredered by a madman!!! In the long run, no matter what the media is spinning, this Obama flim/flam show will not go down well with the overwhelming majority of Americans!!!
the thing that struck me first was the applause for the president attending... applause at a memorial seemed inappropriate. then the catcalls and whoops from the bleachers were too much.
