Krauthammer: Massacre, followed by libel
Wash Post ^ | 1/11/11 | Charles Krauthammer

Posted on 01/11/2011 5:15:16 PM PST by pissant

The charge: The Tucson massacre is a consequence of the "climate of hate" created by Sarah Palin, the Tea Party, Glenn Beck, Obamacare opponents and sundry other liberal betes noires.

The verdict: Rarely in American political discourse has there been a charge so reckless, so scurrilous and so unsupported by evidence.

As killers go, Jared Loughner is not reticent. Yet among all his writings, postings, videos and other ravings - and in all the testimony from all the people who knew him - there is not a single reference to any of these supposed accessories to murder.

Not only is there no evidence that Loughner was impelled to violence by any of those upon whom Paul Krugman, Keith Olbermann, the New York Times, the Tucson sheriff and other rabid partisans are fixated. There is no evidence that he was responding to anything, political or otherwise, outside of his own head.

We should sue.

Sue the government? Dudden matter, they could not pay, they are broke. If they got the money too pay us with, they would have taxed us to pay us. Liberal media will hide behind those Bill of Rights that they hate so much and try to take away from us. I ignore this crap. That is the reason I no longer watch TV news shows at all. If I don't read it here or on the conservative web sites, I guess I remain dumb and don't know.

Ideas disconnected from each other, incoherent, delusional, detached from reality—In other words, the Democrat Party platform.

This sounds like the old Charles, not the newly left moving Charles.

BTW, Charles is coming up on O'Reilly.

In 1978, Krauthammer quit medical practice to direct planning in psychiatric research for the Jimmy Carter administration, and began contributing to The New Republic magazine. During the presidential campaign of 1980, Krauthammer served as a speech writer to Vice President Walter Mondale.

Within the American political spectrum, Krauthammer has been called a conservative, as well as a neoconservative on matters of foreign policy. However, on domestic issues, Krauthammer is a supporter of legalized abortion; an opponent of the death penalty; an intelligent design critic and an advocate for the scientific consensus on evolution, calling the religion-science controversy a “false conflict;” a supporter of embryonic stem cell research using embryos discarded by fertility clinics with restrictions in its applications; and a longtime advocate of radically higher energy taxes to induce conservation.

He’s probably the most qualified of all pundits to speak on this subject as he is a psychiatrist.

Pantie waste progressives are going to get bitch slapped (can I say bitch) over this one. 57/34 percent of the population that pays attention believe talk radio had nothing to do with this incident.

As far as I'm concerned, he hit the bulls-eye. Illustrating Loughner's mental illness before naming it was a particularly nice touch.

Loughner is paranoid, delusional, hallucinates.

He speak in word salads, feels persecuted, and he describes of "conscious dreaming." Nuts.

Charles forgot an analogy for what the left is trying to do to the very politically successful tea party movement, here is one: Every time a person in a family that makes more then $250k per year is robbed, mugged, kidnapped, murdered the right should publicize it as an act incited by the hateful class warfare rhetoric of the left. Here is another, any time a black person or an illegal alien commits a crime against a white person the right should publicize it as an act incited by the hateful leftists that accuse conservatives of being racists and bigots.

The left is becoming its own worst enemy. First they overplayed the race card, and the charge of racist doesn’t have much resonance anymore. Now they’re doing the same thing with the hater card. I hope they keep talking. They’re doing a nice job discrediting themselves with everyone except their nutty base.

The origins of Loughner's delusions are clear: mental illness. What are the origins of Krugman's?

Krugman...you little worm! You're problem is a small brain.

We should sue.

I'm not a big fan of today's runaway train to litigation, but I would support the victim's families in suing the bubble headed sheriff due to his incompetence and inability to enforce the laws, which may have help prevent this psycho from walking the streets of his community.
