Sales of semi-automatic Glock handguns have surged since Jared Loughner gunned down six and injured 14 more, including Rep. Gabrielle Giffords on the weekend.
According to Bloomberg, one-day sales of pistols in Arizona leapt 60% on January 10 - the Monday after the shooting, compared to the previous week.
The owner of two Arizona gun shops told Bloomberg the store was "at double our volume over what we usually do.

I own four models. 17, 19, 21 and 26. Modern relatively lightweight weapon with some drawbacks: not recommend to use reloads implying fear of overpressure (what’s called a Glock KB), intolerant to stovepiping due to non rigid gripping - limp wresting, and a questionable trigger safety. I own 5 1911s and some Berettas. In my opinion all are better than the Glocks
I thought you were kidding about a buy one, get one free sale, but....
The guy should carry a Hi-Point. The weight alone would drop a perp if pistol whipped with it. If it broke on impact it wouldn’t matter ‘cause the perp woul dbe unconscious.
Why? Are there a bunch of liberal copycats waiting in the wings, or are people scared they’re going to be banned?
Thanks for the tip.
I paid about that for my 19, LONG ago.
Amen ... P239 for me.
Although I like my HK P2000SK a lot too.

I guess I will have to make do with my 43 year old St Louis Browning Hi-Power.
Glocks don’t fit my hand so I don’t currently have one.
That said, my experience with them are that they are tough, reliable, and easy to maintain. Plus, since they have absolutely no character, you could throw it out the window of the last bus out of Zimbabwe and not feel bad.
Of all the pistols I have used, the Makarov PM is the most comfortable and most reliable I have known.
I would guess fear of banning. I put in a fresh ammo order yesterday....
Glock Model 20- 2X+ the capacity, 1/2 the weight, 1/2 the recoil, 2X the range. field strips into 1/2 the parts in a fraction of the time, Dishwasher safe.
My Colt Commander Target model 45 ACP. is my preference. They are heavy, but the balance is amazing and they are rugged. No wonder they were the choice for our Officers during WW2. I dearly love the old girl!
LOL. I hear ya. Unlike people who report losing all their guns in boating accidents, I think some folks use a Hi-Point as their anchor!
Bingo!!!
I’m a 1911 guy myself, but I gotta say I’m a sucker for buying guns the politicians are talking of banning - might just have to get me a Glock or three.
Don’t like Glocks. The grip is to wide and it feels like you are holding a brick in your hand.
If I lived in a county where the sheriff doesn’t seem to want to do his job, I’d be looking to buy a powerful, reliable handgun too.
Ah, the good old days. I had an M-14 in my hands back in 1990, price tag: $450. Like an IDIOT I passed it up, bought an SKS instead. I miss the old days.
lol
That's what I found anyway.
