You don’t need a CCW in AZ. You need one IF you go to other states that have such laws. You can pack without a permit ANYWHERE in the state.

I did not know that. Are there any permits at all? In NC, if you don’t want a CCW, but want to purchase a pistol, you have to obtain a pistol purchase permit which only takes about a week to process the background check.

Not quite. There are a number of places you cannot carry, such as military bases & schools. Also, a CCW permit holder can carry in a place that serves alcohol, but a not permit person cannot - IIRC.

On at least two separate occasions yesterday, FNC talking heads made a point about the AZ gun law. My question, if all those people are running around armed (and dangerous?), why didn't one of them pull his legally carried firearm and shoot that son of a bitc# dead right after he fired his first shot? Once again, the absence of legally carried firearms leads to multiple deaths and wounds. Virginia Tech ring a bell?

And, where the hell was that loud mouth sheriff in all this? Why wasn't he or one of his like minded clones with a "legal" firearm present to protect these people from further harm?
