I did not know that. Are there any permits at all? In NC, if you don’t want a CCW, but want to purchase a pistol, you have to obtain a pistol purchase permit which only takes about a week to process the background check.
In AZ, you need to pass a federal background check when you purchase a firearm and when you do - you can carry it concealed - no permit required. If you want to go out of state with it, you might want to check into a permit for reciprocity carry.
We don’t use purchase permits here as in NC and some other states. They DO still issue CCW permits because there is reciprocity with other states so people wanting to carry in other states would be SOL if they couldn’t still get a permit.
