Rep. Bill Pascrell Jr., a New Jersey Democrat, blamed the Fox News Channel for todays shooting spree that left Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords critically wounded and four others slain.
He told a local New Jersey paper shortly after the incident, "There's an aura of hate and elected politicians feed it, certain people on Fox News feed it.
He continued: "I'm sitting here talking to you and my Blackberry's sending alerts that say 'take caution.' Take caution? I'm in the United States of America!"
Pascrell represents the city of Paterson. Meanwhile, New York Times columnist Paul Krugman blamed conservative media titans Rush Limbaugh and Glenn Beck for the shooting, which took place outside of a Safeway grocery store in Tuscon, Arizona.
In a blog post earlier, Krugman wrote:
You know that Republicans will yell about the evils of partisanship whenever anyone tries to make a connection between the rhetoric of Beck, Limbaugh, etc. and the violence I fear were going to see in the months and years ahead. But violent acts are what happen when you create a climate of hate. And its long past time for the GOPs leaders to take a stand against the hate-mongers.
Guess he didn’t get the message...
Anti-government people (the only anti-government people I know is Bill Ayers..a friend of 0bammie and Dorn, Ayers wife.
Sarah Palin isn’t even close.
Talk Radio...the nitty-gritty of what the left is really doing, in their own words.
Tea Party... they only want the Constitution honored and not walked on like the American Flag was by Bill Ayers.
Look in your own backyard.

“Frances Fox Piven has recently called for violence and rioting. I certainly hope that, as a United States representative, you will call for an investigation into those people inciting violence against MY representation in Washington. This violence must stop, and YOU must bring light upon those that call for it. It is your duty to those that pay your salary.”
CONTACT these BASTARDS-—I just did. Fight these cretins...let THEM know WE know.
The reason is simple: they are losing the debate, so they want it to stop.
Democrats do better when there is no critical discussion of their actions.
.
When arguing with a liberal and they call you a racist (bigot, homophobe, chauvinist, etc), you know you've won the debate.
IMHO, we need a counter offensive. Republican women are being attacked. Need the Repub men to STAND up and be counted. (speaking about Repubs in congress, news media, O’Reilly?)
We lowly peons are doing the best we can.
I don’t have any link. Just happened to catch him blaming it on speech using words like “target” and “crosshairs”. Typical garbage from him. You could probably find it somewhere.
And Sen. Dick Durbin (D-Ill.) explicitly called out Sarah Palin for injecting gun imagery into politics, arguing that its the responsibility of politicians and media outlets to call out Palin and others who, he says, push discourse into the danger zone.
We live in a world of violent images
the phrase dont retreat, reload putting crosshairs on congressional districts as targets
they invite the unstable, Durbin told Candy Crowley on CNNs State of the Union.
That was a direct reference to Palins slogan and a SarahPAC map of targeted 20 Democratic-held districts that included Giffords Tucson-area 8th District.

Pascrell blamed the angry, unchecked rhetoric of some on-air personalities, including Fox News commentator Glenn Beck, for fanning partisan flames, and contributing to the kind of hostile environment out of which the shooting may have grown.
"They are entitled to their opinions, but they have consequences," Pascrell said.
Dang, what is it with these people.
He has since pulled back from the blame game, but the damage was done. He used talking points for his own political gain.
My first note to him resulted in a form reply. Haven’t heard from my second note. I’ll e-mail him again tomorrow.
He obviously just shot his mouth off when he pointed at Glenn Beck! If there is one person on Fox who preaches non-violence, it is Beck. The guy’s studio is almost like the inside of a cathedral, and he always holds up Ghandi and MLK as peaceful men to follow. If Pascrell didn’t know this, then he opened his mouth — and showed just how uninformed he is.
thanks! I hate those web forms... I always wondered what their e mail format was... Now, I have to find out Christie’s.
Bill Pascrell and liberal politicians like him create a paradise city like Paterson, NJ.
