Jared Loughner, the suspect accused of killing six people and wounding 13 others Saturday, including Arizona Rep. Gabrielle Giffords, was described by friends and neighbors as a disturbed, pot-smoking loner who lived with his parents.
Additionally, sources tell CBS News that Loughner had made threats in the past and even interacted with Giffords in 2007.
CBS News Justice and Homeland Security correspondent Bob Orr said on "Face the Nation" Sunday, "We do know from our sources and from our national security analyst Juan Zarate that Loughner had an interaction once before with Congresswoman Giffords back in 2007, where he apparently posed a question to her, kind of a benign question.
"She answered the question; he didn't find it acceptable, he didn't like the answer," Orr said.
"In the time since then, investigators believe perhaps he was tracking her and targeting her in a very loose way," Orr told CBS chief Washington correspondent Bob Schieffer.

Indeed. Have we heard anything from Sheriff Fat-Mouth lately? Or has he decided to take a little breather from dispensing his commentary on politics and the media.

Well hoe can the Tea Party and Palin be the cause of this. They were not even on the radar?
They will switch to the old standby. Gun Control.

On February 19, 2009, in a broadcast from the floor of the Chicago Mercantile Exchange, CNBC Business News editor Rick Santelli criticized the government plan to refinance mortgages, which had just been announced the day before. He said that those plans were “promoting bad behavior” by, “subsidizing losers’ mortgages.” He suggested holding a tea party for traders to gather and dump the derivatives in the Chicago River on July 1. A number of the floor traders around him cheered on his proposal, to the amusement of the hosts in the studio. Santelli’s “rant” became a viral video after being featured on the Drudge Report.

Pima County Sheriff Clarence Dupnik failed to protect the community.
Even the local college saw this man as a threat.
I see congressional hearings in his future.
No doubt Pima Co.’s residents appealed to Sheriff Joe for help...
So far all I see is a call to to limit the first two amendments.
It’s the only solution the guys like Pima County Sheriff Clarence Dupnik know.
He failed big and needs to assign blame away from himself.
There is absolutely NOTHING that suggests that this guy has done ANYTHING to suggest he is a conservative or even a far right nut, but his list of reading material screams “liberal” and at least one person who claims to know him says he is a liberal. Yet the media is avoiding linking him in any way to liberals.
It is the same level of incompetence as 911.
So get ready for the cover up for HLS, who COMPLETELY MISSED this nutjob even with having plenty of information..
What was the question?

Neither did anyone in the MSM know who Sarah Palin was in 2007!
A restraining order would have helped if part of the firearm background check include a search for a standing TRO.
Many states require that all firearms be removed from someone with a legal TRO and no issuance of new firemarms.
If I was running the security at Pima College, I would have requested a TRO from the courts ASAP. Perhaps Pima did, but it has not come out in the news yet.
Fact and reality does not seem to mean anything to the Lefty Media.
Sure sounds like the perfect profile of a DU'er to me.
That article inaccurately says that Loughner had made vague threats TO GIFFORDS. The sheriff had said elsewhere that the threats were NOT made to Giffords. Wouldn’t say who they were made to but did clarify that they were not to Giffords.
Somebody is spinning this and not worrying too much about being factually accurate in the process.
