Looks good to me. Let’s see if the Congress has the cajones to move it forward...

Here's a better 28th Amendment from the Jason Lewis show last night:
“It is the right of every Sovereign State to withdraw from the Union upon consent of the citizens of that State”
Now that would really catch Washington DC’s attention!

I like it at first notion.
But I'll mull it over for a while to see if I can find a Devil's Advocate flaw.

Sad that it's come to the point where it has to be spelled out like this......

What’s the number of citizen signatures needed to bring this to action in Congress? I’m in, just let me know where to sign!

It shall be required of every newborn within the United States to be the issue of at least one legal American citizen, the issue of one naturalized American citizen, or of naturalization by a legal guardian who is a citizen in order that birthright citizenship may be bestowed in decendency.”

You need to add term limits somewhere in that amendment along with a 10 year freeze on ex-Congreesmen and ex-Senators becoming lobbyists.
Your next amendment would repeal the 17th amendment and defund every non-governmental entity and government sponsored enterprise. AARP, NPR, NEA (National Endowment for the Arts), and NIH (National Institute for the Humanities), Fannie, Freddie, Ginnie Mae and all other such expenditures along with every non-technical and non-manufacturing grant.
DEFUND THE LEFT NOW!!!

Include czars, wookies, and presidential imposters. But yes, congress should not be allowed to cherry pick for the political class who sure never earned one thing. They all leave a whole lot wealthier than just before they were elected...Bill & Hill, for example.
Who got Ted Kennedy's benefits since he died in office. I'm sure they made sure their heirs lived off the taxpayer indefinitely.

Never going to happen since 80% of the members of state legislatures aspire to "Move on up" to The US House and Senate someday.
It's all about them.

Below is the actual email sent to me. I'm not much for email chains. The issue, though, is important, as we watch laws like Obamacare pass to which the Senators and Representatives are not subject.
--------------------
The 26th amendment (granting the right to vote for 18 year-olds) took only 3 months & 8 days to be ratified! Why? Simple! The people demanded it.
That was in 1971...before computers, before e-mail, before cell phones, etc.
Of the 27 amendments to the Constitution, seven (7) took 1 year or less to become the law of the land...all because of public pressure.
I'm asking each addressee to forward this Email to a minimum of twenty people on their Address list; in turn ask each of those to do likewise.
In three days, most people in The United States of America will have the message. This is one proposal that really should be passed around.
Proposed 28th Amendment to the United States Constitution:
"Congress shall make no law that applies to the citizens of the United States that does not apply equally to the Senators and/or Representatives; and, Congress shall make no law that applies to the Senators and/or Representatives that does not apply equally to the citizens of the United States ." You are one of my 20+. Please keep it going.

That cannot work without exceptions. The primary one being the Constitutional authority Congress has to govern.

You sure you thought that question through? What happens to the benefits of anyone eligible for a retirement annuity from the federal retirement system when they die on the job is simple ~ it is assumed that you, the employee, would have wanted your surviving spouse to receive half of the annuity you would have received. The survivor can pay for FEHB health insurance at the going rates.
Your widow gets your accumulated annual leave, and the sick leave earned under FERS is forfeit. Sick leave earned under the older system may be counted toward computation of your widow's annuity.
If you were ever divorced your widow may well not qualify for the whole 1/2 of your annuity. Some other ol'gal may be after the loot too, and you might need to share.
Teddy's latest widow might be due as much as about $75,000 per year, or more like $37,500 per year.
When she (or they) die, remaining benefits are forfeit.
Federal employees have no federal benefits that are inheritable!.
