I’m all in favor of a tax increase in Illinois. Also, CA, NY, and every other Blue State. They are always complaining that taxes are too low. Maybe they’ll shut up if they have to pay more.

The decline of Blue State America continues to gather momentum. Let’s not stop them. Its fun to watch the enemy destroy himself and its best not to interfere.

At some point, state legislatures will have to compete with each other for taxpayers......

We need a flat tax surcharge on liberals, 10% extra across the board.

I'd be with you if I didn't have to visit Chicago (downtown) every now and then and have my employer saddled with the taxes. The panhandlers, who weren't even there on my first few years of stays, are becoming ever more numerous and aggressive. (I won't even mention the dishonest cabbies that infest the place.)

If I were never to see Chicago again, it would be a blessing.

I'm almost happy that an upcoming committee meeting in Chicago coincides with another higher-priority meeting in D.C. -- I'll get to stay in the more honest of the two places.

Never forget, we can thank “taxpayer’s watchdog” Jim Tobin, President of National Taxpayers United for this. He worked his butt off to defeat Bill Brady and thus allowed Pat Quinn to claim a “mandate” to raise taxes. Tobin, of course, is also the no. #1 Blago defender for this state, and spent eight years tell us how much “better” things were under one-party Democrat rule in this state.

“Conservatives” like Jim Tobin are working for the other side and need to be purged. With friends like them, we don’t need enemies. Not one cent should go to Tobin’s organization.

What’s sad here is that one corner of the state will dictate fiscal policy for the entire geographic area.

The worst thing here is I’m afraid these guys will enforce this the Chicago way - brutal and complete overkill. Busting down doors, submachine guns in kid’s faces, and lots of dead family pets.

I can’t imagine the resentment this will fuel downstate.

Oh great. Guess this means we will be having new neighbors in the neighbor hood (good ol’ NC) in order to dilute the thin Repbulican majority we enjoy. Wonderful. More Democrats and Midwest Socialism comes to the South to enlighten us and show us how backwards we have been all the many, many years and will proceed to show us how to remake our cities and towns into the overtaxed, hell holes they fled from.

It only makes good sense. As the population of IL declines taxes will need to be raised to support the growing number of govt employees and their benefits.
As for downstate IL revolting..that day has long passed. The Secy of Transportation is a Republican from Peoria..Lahood..and he is a complete Obama kiss ass.
IL and Cook county now controls the Executive Branch of the US Govt. They just rotated people in and out of IL.
I just hope our friends get out while they still can.

“At some point, state legislatures will have to compete with each other for taxpayers......”

Well, they already do compete for businesses in tax incentives for building plants, bringing in jobs, and so on...basically, Illinois is telling it’s (remaining few) taxpaying citizens that they are not welcome. Vote with your feet, I say.

I have been tempted to call up the governor and ask what tax incentive he would offer for me to stay, just to see what would happen...and when I left Tennessee, I did remind the governor to remove the “Tennessee Technology Corridor” signs on I-40 and I-75 because most of the high-technology stuff there was in my rented moving truck. Those signs are still there, though.

After ruining their own states, these libtard monkeys will move on to better states, and start their moronic voting and politics to ruin those states too.

My rate is 7.8% in Idaho. Unfortunately, since I'm having to work in San Diego, I'll be hit for the 10.55% CA rate this year. That eats $4,000 from my annual take home income.

Yeah, tell Warren Buffet to move to IL, since he seems to be concerned that he doesn’t pay enough in taxes. In fact, all of the Hollywood crowd should move there, too.

At some point, state legislatures will have to compete with each other for taxpayers......

Already underway. My company is required to appropriate state taxes by the amount earned within each state. I must record my zip code reflecting where I physically performed the work. Once the work exceeds 20 days in the calendar year in a given state, my taxes are apportioned to that state. I'm a resident of ID, but I'll have to pay state income tax to CA. I don't get a voice in CA politics...just a bill for the privilege of earning money within the state boundary.

The demonrats have achieved critical mass in Illinois.
Cook County was the county’s richest county back in the late 1950’s. Today Chicago is down in population likely to fall to number 4 no more second city for decades.
Our South Side is no different than Gary IN. Detroit MI.
or Baltimore MD.
The same political pattern for every blue state. What’s left are welfare takers, minorities
elitist North Shore liberals ( Jan Schakowsky D-commie)There is a shrinking middle class. The makers outsized by the takers.
