Police in Delaware are slowly piecing together the details surrounding the death of former presidential advisor John P. "Jack" Wheeler III.
It now seems Wheeler spent at least two days wandering the streets of Wilmington disoriented.
Police say Wheeler traveled from Washington, D.C., where he worked, to Wilmington Tuesday on an AMTRAK train. He was last seen alive at 3:30 p.m. Thursday near the Hotel duPont parking garage at 10th and Orange streets.
Iman Goldsborough, the parking lot attendant, encountered a man she believes was Wheeler on Wednesday night near the intersection where he was last officially seen Thursday.
Goldsborough says the man came up to her looking for help finding his car, but he appeared disheveled and disoriented. He was without a coat and unable to find his car.
(According to police, Wheeler's car was parked in his monthly space at the DoubleTree Hotel's garage, closer to the train station.)
The man was wearing a suit and tie but was also only wearing one shoe and carrying the other. He said he wanted to get warm before paying for his ticket. Goldsborough said she thought the man seemed like he was suffering from dementia.
Kathleen Boyer, a security guard at the New Castle County Courthouse, said a man she now believes was Wheeler told her he was dropped off by his brother two days prior so he could visit his mother, in Wilmington. The man did not have any apparent injuries but did mention he was robbed of his briefcase. He was looking for a hotel and wanted to know where Front Street was.
Boyer, and two other employees, offered to help him and even offered him some money, which he declined.

Am not sure which story you are referencing. The 'garbage truck' . . .or 'the canoe' albeit, whichever the case, agree. Re Colby: despite 'powers that be' find this story, 'still' amazing. . .and do not think family naive in their grief; just smart; and do not think wife forgot about that phone bill. . .
As for the tragedy and yes, 'stinky story' of Wheeler; there are so many weird possibilities. We do know, with certainty; no matter the how/why, this scenario played out a horrible day with irretrievable consequences.
(Am even wondering about the 'incendiary devices/neighbor story' all too weird as well and wondering 'where and by 'whom' did this idea get legs - if it has ANY of course; and could this be part of larger story to discredit; by whatever MO here.)
Lawyers have family mum on issue; and so, no explanations yet. (Was his wife a part of this? Did Wheeler ever suffer war flashbacks? Might he have had the beginings of paranoia, i.e. reenacting a Vietnam MO in response to this stress of neighbors house? Was this a typical response to neighbors he disagreed with?
Am more inclined to think scuffle with perps brought this on; but who knows? Have yet to read, when wife/family last saw him during Christmas and just may have missed this. But whatever, many questions here! There are of course, the many death events/circumstances that are odorous to the max; the truth of which we will know or know truth, with certainty. And no matter the conclusions offered; because of who this victim was; doubt there will be 'certainty'.
“Did Wheeler ever suffer war flashbacks?”
I read that he never experienced combat.
Exactly. Call for help.
Thanks. . .that takes care of that one!
They should at least know by now; and perhaps always have; 'what dumpster' location he or 'his body' made that trip to landfill in. Seems it would help in the timeline here; and again, do wonder if Wilmington does not have street cameras as well (beyond parking lot footage) to pick up more of Wheeler's last movements about this city.
Going back to dispute with neighbor; if indeed, he is responsible for placing incendiary devices on property; then certainly he was not 'clear thinking' at that time and perhaps this 'stress line' grew.
Suffered a stroke and then was victimized by a street thug?
^^^
That is what it looks like.
Not one human was harmed, nor any species other than one type of bird, and one type of fish?

Brought to you, no doubt, by the same people who claim that Snapple contains substances that destroy the fertility of black men and only black men.
Who are these clowns who sit at their computers with nothing else to do all day but make up these outrageous tales?
Not any sort of expert, but I am pretty sure a stroke could produce disoriented behavior like that of a person with demntia. He could have had a stroke without previous medical evidence.
I know a guy who fed a box of donuts to the front grill of a parked school bus because he thought it was a hungry monster. His libation was vodka with haladol.
——I am pretty sure a stroke could produce disoriented behavior like that of a person with demntia.-—
Transient Ischemic Attack (sp?) or TIA is likely. My mother experienced them for several years before she died. She would become befuddled but not completely out of it.
There was one that was comical incident in the serious way it transpired. She was adamant about being taken to hospital A for emergency treatment. Both my self and my sister preferred Hospital B but relented to her desires.
On one such attack the rescue squad came and transported her to the Hospital A ER as she wanted. When I got there she asked me where she was. I told her she was in the stroke treatment center at hospital A. She asked me that several times, and my sister and the nurses.
She came around and her mind cleared and we were leaving for home. It was then I saw a sheet on her bed from Hospital B. The ambulance apparently gathers some sheets from the two hospitals for use in transports but doesn’t worry much about which sheet is used for which transport. People were telling mom she was in hospital A but the sheet clearly said hospital B.
The TIA still doesn’t account forthe death and garbage dumpster disposal.
“Going back to dispute with neighbor; if indeed, he is responsible for placing incendiary devices on property;...”
I don’t believe everything that’s reported, but I found this article today:
“Indeed witnesses claim they saw smoke bombs launched from Wheelers house into the unfinished property...”

Am guessing these ARE in fact, incendiary per 'where there is smoke fire'; but wondering if these were 'slightly' different and he was just venting. . .
Again, we need to know more; but seems little doubt, he was 'stressed'. . .and when ongoing; it can take a very bad toll; especially if he 'other' mental deterioration - known or unknown - which culminated in a most unfortunate series of events. Whatever they were just prior to his being found.
Okay, “TIA” is the term I should have used rather than “stroke”. Sorry.
You probably would have better off by NOT posting the crap!!!
You, sir, are the master of the understatement.
No, I just think that I would have been better off posting a disclaimer at the top so that I wouldnt get so many annoying comments directed to me as if I supported it when I do not. There are many here who want to know what is going on in the minds of the kook left-wing / libertarian type conspiracy writers. I thought that it would be obvious to most that it was such an e-mail.
The broken floor in his kitchen another mystery???
That's just right, and that's why this kind tin-foil posts on F.R. winds up in the garbage "truck" like Wheeler, unfortunately!!!
Forgot about that. Just 'who' was handling this investigation? Someone other than 'local' or beyond local advisement? Someone with prior knowledge knew something was there that had to be removed; in case of his death?
Orrrrrr. . . maybe he tripped/fell as he ran into house; had 'head bleed'. ..after firing smoke bomb into neighbor's yard and 'blue light' showed blood on floor?
Really, beats me (of course). One thing certain; this investigation 'slow going' - at least, per info released. Speculation OTOH; 'fast moving'. . .
Points well taken, but I have yet to see dead birds of ‘any’ species after the 4th of July. Fireworks are let off on a grander scale on the 4th, but people light them throughout the week here and there. While what you have stated may be true regarding the birds flocking together in winter and dispersing during the summer. I still do not believe fireworks killed the birds.
oopsie -wrong thead folks, sorry about that!
