When I first snapped out of my leftist bubble three years ago, I was shocked to find out how many professions had been infiltrated by the far left. The mainstream media, Hollywood moguls, and the universities were willing tools of progressivism.
But there is an occupation just as culpable in ushering in cultural Marxism, though its contributions are far less well-known. For this profession, I don't have to look further than my own backyard -- that is, psychotherapy.
What I have discovered after researching the history of psychology is that the originators were not simply interested in fixing people. Many were hard-bent on revolutionizing the West.
In this article, I will shed some light on the intricate web linking together a cast of unsavory characters from Europe to the U.S. The result of their efforts has been nothing less than the undermining and corruption of this nation.
The motivation of some of the players has been to replace Judeo-Christian values with secular humanism. Others unleashed the sexual revolution to feed their own prurience. And the more nefarious characters were intent on force-feeding cultural Marxism to an unknowing public.
Let's begin with Sigmund Freud's development of the "talking cure," psychoanalysis, in the early 20th century. Freud attempted to heal his patients, many of whom were depressed and anxious. However, he had a hidden agenda as well.
Freud's theories reflected his personal worldview, which was fiercely secular in nature. An atheist, he rejected religion of all kinds, including the Judaism of his forefathers. Freud labeled religious believers as infantile and delusional [i].

I have written an expose on the motivations of the green/anti-nuclear movement. Many similar threads, believe it or not.
The short form of Robin’s story is that she discovered theism (in the form of the Reconstructionist branch of the Jewish worship community). While not a Christian or even authentically biblical Jewish faith, it was still sufficient to illuminate many wrongs her teachers would have imposed upon her. No wonder liberals hate God so.
There is socialism and totalitarianism worldwide. Let us aid those in this desire and send them to their true homes and out of the last free country on earth. And those who support them.

Well, as a board certified shrink with a quarter century in the field, having pretty much seen, heard, smelled, tasted, “felt” and done it all, my response is: yes and no.
Certainly yes, lots of people with various agendas, and certainly many of them leaning left, are drawn to the field. And certainly yes, a great deal of absolute nonsense is engaged in in the name of “healing.”
But also, and certainly, no: a great deal of good is done as well, and there are a surprising number of people in the field with their heads screwed on right, and frankly, a reading of this therapist’s rant does not convince me she is among them: her own agenda is skewed about exactly where I’d expect a “recovering” Liberal still in Berkeley trying to make a name for herself on conservative venues would be.
The article, and the self-servingly selective info presented, says much more about the author than about the reality of the field as I’ve know it.
As a Therapist, then you do know of the professions complicity in the development of the Fascist States that plagued the European Socities of the 20 and 30’s, leading to WWII.
It was no coincidence that psycho-therapy was frowned upon during the 50’s and 60’s decades. The movement to repudiate the values of the generation that saved the world was encompassed in the “don’t trust anyone OVER 30” rallying cry.
It was a symplistic message that has led to a society that is unrecognizable by most ethical and honest people. Lest we forget, the National Socialist were obsessed with the Young and Health. All the while, using the Progressive agenda of the United States to develope their killing machine. I’m sure if truth were known many in the hard-core Progressive Movement applaud Hitler’s elimination of 12 million human beings. With the added “good” works of Stalin, eliminating 25 million Humans.
It’s true that there are many in the field who just want to help(as well as many who became shrinks to figure themselves out) and it’s true that liberalism does skew your worldview. But I don’t have a problem with the basis of what Robin says here.

No, actually, “As a Therapist” I know a great deal about therapy. I don’t know anything about what you claim I must know, nor do most therapists, I imagine.
I do know that I have read the entire writings of Freud, Reich, & Jung, and a number of others in part, and that those writings never made me want to rape and kill, nor did they shape my politics in the least.
Your biases are certainly on full display. People believe what they want to believe.
