"Personally, I think the Donald would stand a very good chance of getting elected."

To what?

I believe it is the most divisive issue in America today.

And I also believe that most Americans in fact have a strong conservative leaning with regard to all the major issues, but a large chunk of them don’t want to waver on abortion.

Those who are against it, are strongly against it, and in many cases, it is a single-issue for them.

Those on the other side also have strong feelings.

Let me be clear on my own position.
I think abortion is a bad thing. I know a few women who have had them, and they are ALL psychologically scarred by it.
But!!!!
I think a government that assumes the power to tell people what they or their doctors can or can’t do IS A WORSE THING!!!

I find it very ironic that due to Obamacare, there have been thousands, maybe millions of lines written decrying the Federal Government getting involved in the health care window.
But the same folks who condemn the government for telling you what your doctor can/must do re: Obamacare, throw that whole philosophy out the window when it comes to the abortion issue, and are ready to demand that the government do anything/everything possible to outlaw and condemn abortion.

Quite frankly, I don’t have an opinion on the matter. If I were a politician, I’d do my best to ignore the issue just as I do in social situations.

>> Once again, the whole “If you don’t agree with me on [ABORTION], you’re not a TRUE CONSERVATIVE!!!

Abortion kills nascent human life using violent, barbaric methods. A “True Conservative” would not cast the issue aside as an inconvenient political liability.

Of course, Trump was a major beneficiary of the bank bailout.

Welcome to FR. Check this link: Tu Quoque

Hope this helps to clear up your foggy thinking and prevent any future static shocks.

A Trump-Palin (or Palin-Trump) ticket...

Well we sure wouldn’t have to worry about their campaign running short of funds. By the time Election Day arrived, every squirrel in every tree and every mouse in every hole would have heard a thousand times about the pair. Poor Obama... I think he would quit.

You’re right - forgot that one. And that reminds me - I don’t remember who said this but when Paladino was running in NY against Cuomo - a statement was made against him saying “what is this coming to - a businessman now wants to govern?” What arrogance - like it’s strictly for lawyers.

Don’t debate like a liberal by linking to some supposed “debating fallacy”. It’s intellectually dishonest.

See, if you actually read the link you cited instead of just screaming “debating fallacy”, you would see that Jill was justifying smoking because Bill smoked. I’m not calling the bailout a good thing; I’m calling Bill (Sarah Palin) a darned hypocrite.

Your new here. From the link: "1) it is inconsistent with something else a person has said or 2) what a person says is inconsistent with her actions."

What part did you not understand? I smell ozone in your future.

Of course, Trump was a major beneficiary of the bank bailout.

Those are your words. What does that have to do with Governor Palin? Why would Trump being a hypocrite absolve you from irrational thinking?

How many times have you had accounts on FR?
