'A lot of people might think, 'The end's coming, let's go party.' But we're commanded by God to warn people'
RALEIGH, N.C. If there had been time, Marie Exley would have liked to start a family. Instead, the 32-year-old Army veteran has less than six months left, which she'll spend spreading a stark warning: Judgment Day is almost here.
Exley is part of a movement of Christians loosely organized by radio broadcasts and websites, independent of churches and convinced by their reading of the Bible that the end of the world will begin on May 21, 2011.
To get the word out, they're using billboards and bus stop benches, traveling caravans of RVs and volunteers passing out pamphlets on street corners. Cities from Bridgeport, Conn., to Little Rock, Ark., now have billboards with the ominous message, and mission groups are traveling in countries from Latin America to Africa to spread the news outside the U.S.

exactly!
One day after my oldest son’s 17th birthday. Maybe I should nip this one in the bud, right now.
It is suprising the number of ‘the world is going to end groups;’ i.e. Jesus is coming, the Mayan Calender, Nostrodamus. I think people intuitively sense the end of our Western Civilization. (People will survive the end of the West just as Romans survived the end of Classical Civilization. Westerners simply will not count anymore!)
Sigh.
Why are there never any follow-up stories to these things? Why not a hard-hitting investigation on what people gave up for this inanity? Why not ask a few straight-forward questions of these people like, “Okay, so now what?” and “that which you devoted your life to was proven to be 100% wrong by the sun rising this morning. How do you feel about that?”
But no, they’ll be forgotten and then we’ll go through the 12/2012 morons and then the people who fear the number 13 and on and on.
And TaraP will continue posting end-times prophecy on sites like Free Republic until they no longer can do so - with the world still spinning.
Is the space ship coming to get them first?
Let’s all crash their website on May 22. LOL.
“Will begin? So are they saying they don’t know when it will end? ;-)”
Oh, yes. They say that five months later on October 21, the earth will be cleansed with heavenly fire....
Given my druthers; when it DOES happen, I’d just as soon be resting at ambient temperature.
It does not sound like a really good time to be alive - so if the Good Lord is willing, I’d just as soon be among those who’s deeds have finished, and are awaiting judgement.
There are those who want to be there on the Last Day. Either those folk have not read the bible, or they have a desire for pain. If it’s all the same ... I’ll wait patiently for my resurrected body, thank you.

No individual knows the time. This is hogwash. I’m sure Britain thought it so during the Blitzkrieg.
you forgot and:
Earthquakes, Spaceweather, Fireball Sightings and other earth and heaven matters.....
:0)
"I'll save you a seat!"
I think I’ll still get ready or Mothers day
Aren’t Jesus and the Father, the same?
Come to think of it, I need a couple more machetes.......
Gotcha. However, Israel gained it’s independence on May 14th - so these guys might miss it, also. ;)
TaraP, folks need to know their creator. That is what becomes required. The end of times faces all of us. That time is determined by our Lord.
As an act of faith, they should transfer all their evil, worldly assets to me on May 20, 2011.
I think it takes around 18months.
Can never have too many machetes!
