Darrell Issa reveals list of investigations
Politico ^ | January 02, 2011 | JAKE SHERMAN

Posted on 01/03/2011 5:14:08 AM PST by RobinMasters

Rep. Darrell Issa is aiming to launch investigations on everything from WikiLeaks to Fannie Mae to corruption in Afghanistan in the first few months of what promises to be a high profile chairmanship of the top oversight committee in Congress.

According to an outline of the committee’s hearing topics obtained by POLITICO, the House Oversight and Government Reform is also planning to investigate how regulation impacts job creation, the role of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac in the foreclosure crisis; recalls at the Food and Drug Administration and the failure of the Financial Crisis Inquiry Commission to agree on the causes of the market meltdown.

This sweeping and specific hearing agenda shows that Issa (R-Calif.) plans to cut a wide swath as chairman, latching onto hot button issues that could make his committee the center of attention in the opening months of the 112th Congress. By grabbing such a wide portfolio – especially in national security matters – Issa is also laying down a marker of sorts, which could cement his panel as the go-to place for investigations.

I’m skeptical that this will amount to anything substantial.

The problem is that congress finds more scapegoats than anything. We need citizens to do the investigations and trials.

Gee, do you think they will spend the next two years trying to blame the other guys?

And then it will be time for a “change.”

And the seats will move, the players will stand up and run around, and it all starts again.

ALL of these guys have to go. All of them.

“Issa also wants to study why the financial crisis commission couldn’t reach consensus last year. He’d like to call Phil Angelides and former Rep. Bill Thomas (R-Calif.), the chair and ranking member of the committee, to determine if there was any agreement on the panel in relation to the cause of the meltdown.”

This one will go nowhere ... the fix was in on so many levels.

The thought of hearings for the Obama gang makes me think of the mobsters testifying during the hearings in the classic film "On the Waterfront" - where director Elia Kazan used mob thugs as a metaphor for Communist thugs!

Here's a bit from the courtroom scene:

                                BIG MAC {gang member}
		Sure we keep records!

				COUNSEL
		Well, where are they?

				BIG MAC
			(indignantly)
We was robbed last night and we can't find no books.

- CLOSER SHOT—COUNSEL AND BIG MAC -

				COUNSEL
Doesn't it seem odd to you that five
different waterfront locals were broken into last
night and the only articles removed were financial
		records?

				BIG MAC
			(steadfastly)
What do you mean, odd? We was robbed like I told you.

				COUNSEL
			(waving him aside)
		That's all. Next witness!

This was Kazan's view of the Commies being hauled before HUAC during the late 40s and early 50s - when America did confront the 5th column working for its demise.

I met Issa when he first ran for senate about 10 or 12 years ago here in California. He lost, then ran for and won his congressional seat. He’s VERY ambitious, so if he can make something happen and get big time coverage out of his investigations, he will move heaven and earth to make it happen. He is not someone to trifle with at all. It’s been reported that he met with Biden recently and that they supposedly reached some kind of accommodation. If so, just remember that Issa is independently wealthy and he wants to rise further up the political ladder. He is more interested in making a national name for himself than anything else.

Did you not get the message?
THERE WERE NO RECORDS KEPT WITH
the Marxist Kenyan DNC Obamite Commissars.

"Energy czar Carol Browner epitomized the secretive dealings of these offices when she advised auto industry executives this month to "to put nothing in writing, ever" about their meetings with her."

Does anybody get this? Turn about is fair play and it is a moment of Schadenfreude to me...

Look, for the last 4 to 6 yrs of the Bush Administration, Putz's like Carl Levin did nothing but bad talk the war, the economy etc. We all had heartburn here with aspects of GWB's Admin, but for all intensive purposes it was systematic daily death by a thousand political cuts by the likes of Levin spouting off nothing but leftist dribble, and no one called them on it, that was the sad part.

Turn about will be fair play as Obama and his team will now have to justify all moves of their adminstration under the light of House Hearings, These will be legit questions vs. what Levin and his ilk did.

The long term effect will be to wear down the support for the Obama Adminstration not by lies, but by the disinfecting aspect of sunshine i.e. the hearings, by 2012 my guess is the center of the country will have had it with these clowns.

How is that verbosity workin' for ya now Carl Levin...

The beauty of owning the House is that is where real investigations can take place. Fanny/Freddie need investigation and either reform or privatization.

"Issa also wants to study why the financial crisis commission couldn’t reach consensus last year. He’d like to call Phil Angelides..."

Angelides is the Appolo Project (of Van Jones & Soros fame) operative the Obamanistas put in charge of the FCC, to get to the bottom of the financial meltdown.

If Issa doesn't allow the fix, and he has done enough preparation to successfully expose the networks of radical anti-americans at work... buckle up your seat-belts, we're in for a hell of a ride.

About what?

If this is true, he is already off to a bad start!
