Former Vice President Al Gore is picking a fight with Fox News over a year-old management memo that he says betrays a bias against global warming science.
"Fox News has consistently delivered false and misleading information to its viewers about the climate crisis," Gore wrote on his website. "The leaked e-mails now suggest that this bias comes directly form the executives responsible for their news coverage."
Gore was referring to a Dec. 8, 2009 memo attributed to Fox News' Washington Managing Editor Bill Sammon and posted by the liberal-leaning website Media Matters, according to The Hill newspaper. In the memo, Sammon wrote, "Given the controversy over the veracity of climate change data, we should refrain from asserting that the planet has warmed (or cooled) in any given period without IMMEDIATELY pointing out that such theories are based upon data that critics have called into question. It is not our place as journalists to assert such notions as facts."
Media Matters said the memo went out just after a Fox News correspondent reported that the United Nations World Meteorological Organization had said 2000 to 2009 was the warmest decade on record.
The prevailing view in the scientific community is that it's getting hotter -- and the warming is due to human activities such as energy production from coal-fired power plants. But there are dissenters, some of whom suggest that the warming is cyclical and not man-made.
"There's no legitimate debate," Gore insisted. "The planet is warming. Moreover, man-made global warming pollution is the principal cause."
Overall, the former vice president said, "the media's coverage of climate issues has been atrocious. However, Fox seems determined to set the bar even lower."
The Hill did not report any response from Fox News to Gore's remarks.

That’s the Gore Effect kicking in albeit with a slight delay. He speaks (less than a week after COP16) a bunch of hot air to the world and everything cools down!

First the Progressives declare that what they deem to be “Hate Speech” is declare to not be covered by the First Amendment. Now anything the Left declares to be “Blatent Lies” we be declared outside the Amendment’s protection. “You can’t yell Fire in a crowded theater” will be their argument.
Algore needs to be Algone. This guy is a mental case.
It is cruel that he is not receiving treatment that he so desperately needs.

I'm surprised he did not accuse the head of Fox of raping a woman. To top it of, dems are accusing the GOP of taking money from China. CHINA! As in chinagate and no controlling legal authority and Loral's missing guidance chip and the daughter of a Chinese general donating 500k and Global Crossing and CNN's Gretta Van Sustren selling her home for 3x the price to Chinas government.

Hey Al...I got a bunch of other leaked e-mails I’d like for you to look into and talk about. I noticed you were mysteriously silent when THOSE e-mails were in the news.
Fox could shatter the ratings by inviting Algore to debate climate change (aka global warming) with Meagan Kelly. If I were Fox it’s what I would do. That would turn into a story with long legs as Algore bobbed and weaved to avoid the debate.

Exactly. And they have not stopped. The twisted libs cannot stop lying and cheating. It is just who and what they are. And we watched this tactic being used by the Clinton mob for way too many years and the stupid Repubs just stood there and took it....argh! (All except for Henry Hyde, et al).

Good choice. Given their past record of freezing cold whereever they're held, his appearance should help the local ski resorts.
