GOP candidates rush to get into Senate races
RealClearPolitics ^ | December 28, 2010 | Philip Elliott

Less than two months after voters gave Republicans six more Senate seats and control of the House, the GOP is lining up candidates for 2012, well ahead of the pace of previous election cycles.

--snip--

In Virginia, Democratic Sen. Jim Webb could face a rematch against former Sen. George Allen. Webb inched out Allen in 2006, but Allen has been building buzz for a return to Washington with speeches to tea party groups and less-than-subtle hints he is weighing another campaign...

**She has problems of her own.**

from a blog called tooconservative... Sounds like a RINO rag to me.

Remember this before ANYONE makes ANY decision... Republicans and the Drive by Media are NOT OUR FRIENDS. I’ll triple check any source from either one...

The National enquirer still only needs 2 checks. /sarc

Webb’s gotta go, but Allen isn’t the answer. I like him okay, but he’s weak. Time to move past him, although he might be useful in some other way.

Allen would be a stench in the nostrils of the Dems, who smeared him to take his seat. It would be worth it to elect him for that reason alone.

I want the Democrat Party humiliated. I want folks who hate conservatism and who are embarrassed by conservatives humiliated. I want jackasses like James Carville, Chris Matthews and Jon Stewart to be left sitting in their pundit's chairs drooling with nothing to say.

I hate liberalism. I hate the Democrat Party. I want them destroyed.

I certainly hope they give Lease A Murkowski a bad time, maybe even a bucket of water thrown at her.

Its not too late to start a campaign to have her removed from her recent supposed win. She is nothing but trouble for Alaska, and unfortunately most Alaskans were convinced she was the better of two weevils.

The democratic smear campaign won a battle against Joe Miller, but the war isn’t over, only quitters quit.

From my point of view, it’s not that George Allen isn’t pure enough, it’s because he doesn’t appear to be capable of running an effective campaign.

He was completely taken out of his last race by that ridiculous “maccaca” incident, something that never should have been allowed to happen in the first place, and something that should have bee instantly diffused by a capable campaign staff and a capable candidate. I’m afraid that Mr. Allen was found lacking in both area’s.

IMHO, Allen, if elected, would be another GOP establishment type completely ready to go along with anything a McConnell like leader would ask him to do.

There are some state level guys in Prince William County who are doing yeoman’s work for the conservative cause that I am much more enthusiastic about. Check out illegal immigration in that county to start with.

Ronald Reagan would kick Jim Webb square in the nuts.

Who was that one loony VA freeper that boasted about voting for Webb? Zotted I hope.

“The type that will put on an air of being an unabashedly red, white & blue, Constitution-loving American if it serves to further their ambitions.”

Great definition of a professional politician.

RINO Senators have to go too.

Yeah. Snowe goes without saying. Lugar as well. We could do without Bob Corker too, TN is a solid GOP state.

Conservative Governor Elect-Paul LePage of Maine has unfortunately pledged to support Snowe due to personal friendship with her late husband.

Exactly. Allen is weak and ran an apology tour near the end of the campaign that turned off many conservative voters. We need someone much tougher and capable of fighting the Washington Post Democrat campaign arm.

I think it was “meandog”. He called Allen a “chickenhawk” and Webb a “conservative democrat”. He has indeed been zotted.

It is not that he is not pure; the Left took him down with words. His dumb book stunt about Webb’s writings was dumb. Issues..... Issues......

Oooh JLA (Joke Laugh Aloud)... She needs to be vetted, but Allen is already DOA. He screwed the pooch with his Webb book stunt and own words. Talk about a piss poor campaign. If you cannot win on issues go for fiction in Webb’s book. Yeah that was smart! As far as my screen name; I have a medical issue in which I am alive due to daily pills. My time is up and there is an approaching danger for me. Look at the dictionary idiot.....

“RINO Senators have to go too.”

Too bad we can’t seem to get rid of the two RINO’s Isakson and Chambliss in GA. I don’t think we will ever vote them out.

I know the blogger. He is solidly conservative.

What he posts about her subpoena in the case is true. I believe he even links to the court documents.

I make no apologies for being an Allen loyalist. But if he were not in the picture I would support Bob Marshall or Corey Stewart before Radtke.

“I’d love to see Ken Cuccinelli run.”

Me too.

The lesson of 2010 is clear: we can successfully run solidly conservative candidates in just about every state or district (and VA is no exception), but we can’t run a bad candidate and expect to win. (Well, sometimes the district is so Republican and the wave is so strong that even a bad candidate like Joe Walsh can eke out a win in IL-08, but for the most part candidates without the proper profile, experience or skills lose.

In VA, Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli is as conservative as they come, and he certainly has the right profile, experience and skills to beat Webb or whomever the Democrats nominate (maybe Senator Webb will opt not to run and former Gov. Kaine will run instead). Cuccinelli is a former state legislator from NoVA, so he knows how to frame the issues so as not to repel less conservative voters, and would certainly be able to get conservatives from across the state to come out to vote for him, as he proved in his 2009 victory. If Cuccinelli runs, he should be nominated by acclamation, will surely win the general election, and will become a principled conservative Senator.

RINO Senators have to go too.

Of course. Every GOP nominee should be a conservative.

Thanks for the info, and the links. I caught her on Greta's show last night..I was impressed. She was articulate. Sounds like there's a good field. Even though Allen seems the presumptive favorite, and I would happily support him, I think a vigorous primary would be good for him...after the whole macaca fiasco, he can, to use a sports metaphor, use a "rehab start" before getting back to the big leagues. Obviously, he'll have to address "macaca", and handle it, and kill it right away up front..otherwise his campaign will never get off the ground.(I always felt that McCain's challenge of W in 2000 made Bush a far better campaigner in the general election)

Slightly off topic, but what have you heard about the 2012 race for the 11th CD? We came oh-so-close to knocking off Connolly..he's got to be a prime target for 2012. Will Fimiam run again, or do you think that the last minute dust-up about his comments on the VaTech shooting have made him toxic..?

And what about the 8th CD. I suspect that Moron, now that he's in the minority, will grow even more bizarre ( if that's even possible) in his comments and behavior, and might be taken down with the righr candidate.

Thanks again..

Cuccinelli has indicated he has no interest in running for the Senate. At least not in 2012. I think he’d rather be Governor.
