Not that being a modern-day Edward R Murrow is even such a big deal, but this is an extreme over-rating of Jon Liebowitz.

So Murrow was an overrated, unfunny, hack comic who carried water for the Left? Wow, who knew?

As far as I am concerned, Murrow was a leftist communist sympathizer.
Murrow speaks out against Joseph McCarthy
If he wasn't a communist sympathizer, he was a just a plain idiot at best, and a useful idiot at worst.
To me, lumping Jon Stewart in with this guy makes a lot of sense, but not in the way the old Stalinists at The New York Slimes intend it to.

There is no truth in Pravda, there is no news in Izvestia... a popular Russian saying was “v Pravde net izvestiy, v Izvestiyakh net pravdy” (In the Truth there is no news, and in the News there is no truth) Pravda and Izvestia, meant “the truth” and “the news” respectively

Yeah. The other night on a game show, a fellow guessed someone realistic for that honor (Brian Williams seemed like he would be a more sensible answer); but when he put the bulk of his money on that answer, he lost. It’s ludicrous. I’m not a Williams fan, but Stewart?
