In August 1980 my dad drove us to the top of Whiteface mountain in the Adirondacks to show us the Olympic sites, and I was wearing shorts when it started snowing. I thought it was great!

Too — temperatures measured at ground level alone are misleading. The atmosphere has a considerable vertical dimension. If the surface is getting warmer but the upper air is getting colder, the net thermal energy difference might be zero or negative.

And here I was thinking it was just this little thing called "winter".

It makes a person wonder where they ever came up with the name for the movie "White Christmas".

It’s variable, can be less than 24 hrs, or somewhat more. Definitely not speed of light.

My grandparents have tons of pictures of the blizzard of ‘66 in Syracuse. Snow up to the roof.

Apparently there were a lot of births in December, 9 months later including my own.

Yes, this could extend the Gore brand another 10 years, if only he could find a way to jump on it, and publish
An Inconvenient Truth II (revised edition)

I was in Rome, NY during that blizzard. I was only 9 but I remember it.

In the move White Christmas, there was unseasonably warm weather. The Generals acquisition of a ski lodge in Vermont was killing him financially, because of GLOBAL WARMING, in the 50’s.

——normal British Winter——

When viewing the 3D Imax movie A Christmas Carol, the snow was falling around you, in the audience, many feet away from the screen. Dickensonian winter, Christmas’s that is, involved lots and lots of snow.

It would seem the writer’s time horizon is the problem. The recent past is the anomaly, not the norm. Charles Dickens is the reporter with news of the norm.

Breaking on MSNBC! EPA is going to regulate the Jet Stream and impose huge penalties for not going along with the Global Warming Hoax. The UN Security Council is having an emergency session to deal with the problem and may impose sanctions on the Jet Stream. Obama calls it a “Crisis” and considers a Jet Stream Tax to be imposed on all Small Business in America. More to follow.

How do you say Adirondacks? Phonetic spelling and where to place emphasis would be deeply appreciated. As a native Californian, I’ve never gotten a handle on this word. I’m sure I butcher it.

But they always give Buffalo all the credit for snow!
I'm in Rochester and I agree. Syracuse gets buried and Buffalo gets all the press.
I was here for the blizzards of '66 and '77 and they were unbelievable.

Yea, he's pretty good. Last winter here in S.E. Michigan we had lots of cold but little snow. Joe predicted that.....

smart or dumb, he is still laughing at their arrogance and ignorance of him.

It reminds me of the confounding of languages of those building the Tower of Babel.

He created this/us. He is the only one who understand how it all works.
