Wednesday's news that Ohio State players were under investigation for exchanging autographs for free tattoos was good for a laugh, and for Vegas to nix the gambling lines on the Buckeyes' upcoming Sugar Bowl date with Arkansas. But tattoos and point spreads are the least of OSU's concerns today.
Five players four of them starters, including mega-hyped 2008 classmates Terrelle Pryor, Mike Adams and DeVier Posey will miss the first five games of next season for selling jerseys, rings and other memorabilia, putting them on ice for almost half the schedule and potentially sinking another run at the BCS Championship Game.

ok
Which one of them had that bit of wisdom to share with the world?
Pryor said that upon Vick’s return to the NFL. The suspended players are supposed to make some sort of statement today at 3:30. I am guessing the OSU staff are making an effort for them not to ad lib anything.
Very sad.
Cmon, these kids are exploited like no one’s buisiness. You would do the exact same thing if you had a family for whom you were the sole breadwinner as an “amateur” athlete. At least these guys are trying to get their family off the public dole. Also, what is the issue? They sold something that legally belonged to them? Had someone do them a favor? They sold a piece of property.
The problem with your argument is how profitable OSU football is. And the fact that 25 years ago, no one would have sneezed at what they did. They sold their property. That’s it. It either belongs to them, or it doesn’t.
I want to get rid of the comment about OSU football. In fact, you are 100% right. Contracts are contracts, and should be honored. I feel the contract should be changed, and conflated the issues. My apologies
Yes, it's their property. They're entitled to sell it....after they leave college. While at the university, they are still under NCAA rules and must adhere to them. This was a clear violation.
The fact "25 years ago, no one would have sneezed at what they did" is patently false. Maybe you're unaware of what happened with SMU in the 80s. Players received rent free apartments, allowances, etc. It's one of the main reasons the current rules are in place.
Considering only one of the five has said anything about returning to OSU next year, I think the other four are likely NFL bound and will somehow be just fine.
