If they had waited until they were no longer under NCAA rules, they could sell whatever they want to whoever they want for whatever they want. You'll pardon me if I don't mourn over their “exploitation” when they are given scholarships and a national stage (at high profile universities like OSU) to showcase their talents for the next level. If they get hurt, they're cared for (and well) at the program's expense. They also have the option of getting their degree for free if the NFL isn't in their future. If they're so concerned for their family's well-being, they would send every penny, legal or not, home. Yet, somehow....you see these guys in college games all inked up and wearing jewelry. Your agument is BS. You may as well say employees of large, profit making companies are "exploited" by their employers. Both are getting something in exchange for their services and agreed to the terms.

The problem with your argument is how profitable OSU football is. And the fact that 25 years ago, no one would have sneezed at what they did. They sold their property. That’s it. It either belongs to them, or it doesn’t.
