Republican Rep. Tom McClintock offered the House a history lesson today as he urged members to wrap up their business and get out of town.
"This lame duck session is rapidly descending into farce," McClintock, of Elk Grove, said in a speech on the House floor. "I believe this House is now in danger of becoming a caricature of everything the American people rejected in November: incompetence, arrogance, and a complete detachment from reality.
"Nearly two months ago, the American people said very clearly they don't want this Congress legislating for them any longer. And instead of graciously and humbly accepting the public's verdict, the Democratic leaders seem intent to thumb their noses at the American people."

Agreed.
Maybe it has something to do with working in a Slave Party dominated legislature for so long.
Are you saying that they are lightweights? ;-)
He is already!!! Infact he just got re-elected unless I'm mistaken. He is my Congressional Representative elected by Congressional District #4 which is the most conservative part of CA!!! Even Orange County cannot hold a candle to our conservative disposition!!!
I only know what I’ve read here on FR about McClintock. There is a post in the comments section that raised my eyebrows a bit, and I am curious as to how much of it is false.

Let’s check McClintock’s history:
1) Career politician since age 26 (after college)
2) Only “private sector job” = the only 2 years he spent being out of any elected office... “working” as a consultant to a taxpayers advocacy group
3) Military experience = 0
4) While serving in the CA State Senate... “Tom the Terrific Taxpayers Tea-Party Tribunal Trumpeter” still used his Modesto (rental) address on Travel Expense Claims... after moving to nearby Elk Grove.
5) Traveled round-trip from D.C. to Sacramento to speak at Tea-Party rally... at taxpayer expense.
6) Still collects his full salary, per diem(s), and every personal entitlement available to such a “V.I.P.”

These are serious charges, and if not true he should take action to refute and discredit the authors (or at least publishers) of such borderline libel. If he fails to do so, it will considerably alter my opinion of the man.
He certainly nails it. FWIW, I knew California was doomed when they rejected McClintock for governor in favor of an actor. I knew right then that the electorate was too uninformed to save this decaying state.
McClintock is so, so right.

I remember when McClintock was a conservative...
Thank you!
What Harry Reid did swapping the core of bills that had been through the process with initiatives that had not to ram the Dems agenda through was obscene. It showed a total disrespect for the American people and the idea of representative government. With the action of the Dems last Christmas and this Lame Duck session, they have earned their reputation as the party of arrogance and force.
BTTT
I've moved recently from California where for years I've wanted McClintock to reach higher than the many state positions he's had for years. I thought he was running for Congress, but something in the article excerpt somehow made me think he was still in Sacramento.
So praise the Lord, Merry Christmas and a Prosperous (not Preposterous) New Year.
Lightweight is probably going a bit too far... in the wrong direction. Some of them haven’t progressed to that stage yet.
;^)
Okay, okay, tarred... ;^) When the spelling gene was handed out, I was at BurgerKing.
