Republican Rep. Tom McClintock offered the House a history lesson today as he urged members to wrap up their business and get out of town.
"This lame duck session is rapidly descending into farce," McClintock, of Elk Grove, said in a speech on the House floor. "I believe this House is now in danger of becoming a caricature of everything the American people rejected in November: incompetence, arrogance, and a complete detachment from reality.
"Nearly two months ago, the American people said very clearly they don't want this Congress legislating for them any longer. And instead of graciously and humbly accepting the public's verdict, the Democratic leaders seem intent to thumb their noses at the American people."

fyi
McClintock’s right. The powers-that-be view the American people with contempt.
Boy has that guy got them pegged.
This lame duck session has done more to destroy our country in two weeks than previous Congress’s have done in 20 years.
DADT, where the sun won’t shine?
Where’s the BUDGET??
PING!
McClintock ping list
(Freepmail me if you want on or off this list)
Merry Christmas and a Happy, Prosperous? New Year FRiend...
Thanks. I guess it’s nice to know someone gets it.
Thirteen Republicans in the Senate sure didn’t. Heck, hardly any of the Republicans did.
I’m not going to say exactly what this lame duck Congress has done to the America people, but the words “cluster” and well... you know what else fits in there.
These men should be tared and feathered upon returning to their own districts.
McClintock: This is normally referred to as the ‘scorched earth ‘ policy.
Many of us saw this coming.
McClintock almost never misses the bulls eye. I know California needs him but I wish he were a Senator or Representative in Washington. I also hope a conservative POTUS will seek his fiscal and economic conservative advice.
I saw that the basin got pounded again this afternoon. Rail fall rates in East LA and Compton at about 3 p.m. were over 4"/hr.
Merry Christmas, CC! Stay dry!
shining star...NOT shinning! LOL
He is a member of the House of Representatives in Washington. He was elected to represent California's 4th Congressional District in 2008.
And the same to you, fine sir!
Happy will do it -- it's hard to be happy and not (sufficiently) prosperous, lol.
Works for me! Even if they wait until Dec 31.
I drove through Carson this afternoon and got pounded. It was really strange in the whole south bay area — 10 minutes of sunny sky and white clouds and then wham! Pouring rain at the 4”/hour level. Streets were flooded, sewers overflowing, and clueless California drivers not knowing what the heck to do. I hadn’t seen it rain that hard since the big rainfall we had in 1994 or 1995. (To a Floridian, it was nuthin, lol)
Well then, he's right where he needs to be, except I wish he were a Senator
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
Back at ya!
Stay dry!
LOL. Too late - I got soaked today (more than once)
