New START treaty passes key Senate vote (Cloture passes 67-28, 11 R support)
Los Angeles Times ^ | Dec 22, 2010 | Lisa Mascaro and Michael Muskal

The Senate voted 67-28 to pass a cloture motion, seemingly enough to assure final ratification. Eleven Republicans joined with 56 Democrats to pass the cloture motion.

It will take 67 votes to ratify the New Start pact, which would give the Obama administration its top foreign policy goal in the lame-duck session.

Among Republicans announcing their support were Richard G. Lugar of Indiana, George V. Voinovich of Ohio, Scott Brown of Massachusetts, Olympia J. Snowe and Susan Collins of Maine, Lamar Alexander and Bob Corker of Tennessee, Johnny Isakson of Georgia, Lisa Murkowski of Alaska, Thad Cochran of Mississippi, and Bob Bennett of Utah. All voted for cloture.

Bennett doesn’t care-—he has only about 14 more days to be in Washington.

Wonder how he will explain this to his Utah Mormons?????

Murkowski voted for it because Palin was against it.

I think it is time to really get on McConnell. This man is not leading the caucus like he should. He’s way too weak, and he doesn’t even seem to see it coming. He was on Hannity a few weeks ago and Hannity asked if Reid was going to bring up DREAM Act, START, DADT. McConnell, just answered, “I don’t know, it’s up to the majority leader, gotta pass the tax deal, yadda, yadda, yadda.” I think McConnell needs to really get pummelled with calls and mail and pressured to step down from the leadership. And if Boehner cries one more time, he should get the boot too.

Bawling Boehner and Mumbles McConnell...OUT!!! Get rid of them. If ever there was a time to show We The People that they will fight for the Constitution and for the good of the people, it is NOW! So what have these two shown us?

And then we MUST purge the RINOS, the socialist/communists/fascists/marxists/revolutionaries and muslim sympathizers. A long, tough road ahead for We The People. Let our Fore Fathers and patriots of yore be our guide. We can and shall do this, so help us God.

I think you’re right on this. It’s a likely explanation.

Can’t wait to see the look on those pub faces when he tells them we have to cut missile defense as part of the deficit reduction. Of course, I would believe that would be an impeachable offense.

As a resident of the 5th district of Maryland I have always felt that I was wasting my time voting, because Steny Hoyer and Barbara Mikulski and Cardin , the democrats always win.

I always thought that Republicans in Maryland never get recognised.

Now I know that it doesn’t matter whether you vote for democrat or republican, There is always a traitor amongst the republcan party that will sell us out.

In this case 11 of them. What a sorry lot these RINO POS are.

They just voted to make America defenseless.

No surprise. Both Tennessee Senators are RINOs. In fact I’m surprised only one of the Georgia RINO twins, Johnny Isakson, voted for it. I was sure old Saxby Chambliss would be right there with him. And even only one of the Utah RINO duo, (senate seat terminated) Bob Bennett, voted for it, I’m pretty sure Old Orin Hatch would have voted for it except for the fact that he is up for re-election in 2012.

Double RINO States:

Georgia with Isakson and Chambliss

Maine with Snowe, and Collins

Tennessee with Corker and Alexander

Texas with Hutchinson and Cornyn

Utah with Bennett (in his last days) and Hatch

Maine is the only state with a possible reason for voting in double RINOs. The other states should be ashamed of themselves.

Let’s have this GOP Civil War RIGHT NOW! Let’s have it nuclear style so it ends soon enough for the 2012 election to bring conservatives to victory. No more dancing with RINOs, and looking over the shoulder to see them vote with Obama time and again.

Yes. And the DREAM act will become law through executive order and the courts.

Being a Mississippi born, present Tennessee resident, words fail me to call these three traitors low enough names to fit their deeds....I will do all I can to see that they never get reelected.

Don’t jump to conclusions. Still before the Alaska Supreme Court and all may not have been handled “above board” by various officials. More may be known a little later. She has not been certified as the winner.

THEY ARE NOT STUPID. They know precisely what they are doing. Please stop pretending they give a d*mn!!!!! Please!!!!

Exactly right! The arrogant "elites" in Washington know quite clearly what they are doing. The RINOs and weak Republicans are purposely "screwing" conservatives, even though it will do great damage to our Republic. The elites are beyond contempt. Dark days are ahead.

I just heard on FOX radio news that Obama hasn’t give up on the DREAM Act and that he met this afternoon with the Hispanic House caucus and told them his intention to keep trying to pass this garbage.
