The Commandant is a Marine in the finest tradition of his service.

Are you insane? A week ago, he was speaking OUT against the repeal. Now he will lead the way for fags to infest the Marines?

What a two-faced hypocrite. Clearly he is more interested in his cushy Washington career than being a true Marine.

Piss on him.

Unlike too many at this forum, the Commandant is not a quitter. Congress by our Constitution will make the rules for governance of our Armed Forces.

For the time being, I will ignore your silly insult.

You're flat out wrong. He spoke out against the repeal but now that DADT has been repealed he has no choice but to obey the law.
I guarantee he's still against queers serving in the military.

I believe he is dedicated to the Corps. He was and is adamantly opposed to rescinding DADT. Think about it. If he resigns, I guarantee Obama would assign a lackey as his replacement. If he stays in he can mitigate the situation, perhaps establishing a strict code of conduct which would enable any individual who steps the least bit out of line to be drummed out of the corps.

Complete nonsense. Amos is a combat veteran, a pilot, and a hero. He made his feelings known during the hearing two weeks ago. However, the law is the law, and he is now honor bound as a Marine to implement it, like it or not.

The people you should be howling at are the Congress critters who passed this travesty, ESPECIALLY the GOP'ers who voted for it.

True Marines (and soldiers, and sailors, and airmen) obey the lawful orders of their civilian superiors, as it should be.

The orders may be abnormally stupid or ill-conceived, but those orders must and shall be obeyed. Anything less is the path to a third world banana republic.
