Top Marine pledges to ‘personally lead’ gay integration
Stars and Stripes ^ | Dec. 20, 2010 | Kevin Baron

One week after warning the distraction of repealing “don’t ask, don’t tell” could risk Marines’ lives, Gen. James Amos, commandant of the Marine Corps, pledged to lead the effort to integrate openly gay Marines.

“I, and the Sergeant Major of the Marine Corps [Carlton Kent], will personally lead this effort, thus ensuring the respect and dignity due all Marines,” Amos said. “On this matter, we look forward to further demonstrating to the American people the discipline and loyalty that have been the hallmark of the United States Marine Corps for over 235 years."

Amos’ statement sent to reporters came Sunday evening, one day after the Senate adopted the repeal, capping a stunning, climactic day on the chamber floor.

Marine Corps leaders have shown the most resistance to repealing the 17-year old law. Former commandant Gen. James Conway said the Corps’ “pretty macho” recruits set them apart from other services.

On Dec. 3, Amos – who became the 35th commandant in October – and the chiefs of the Army and Air Force told Congress they did not want repeal now, based on the results of a DOD troop survey. The survey found Marines in combat arms units much more opposed to the repeal than other elements of the force, or the complete military.

Here is Amos’ full statement:

"Fidelity is the essence of the United States Marine Corps. Above all else, we are loyal to the Constitution, our Commander in Chief, Congress, our Chain of Command, and the American people. The House of Representatives and the Senate have voted to repeal Title 10, US Code 654 "Policy Concerning Homosexuality in the United States Armed Forces." As stated during my testimony before Congress in September and again during hearings before the Senate Armed Services Committee earlier this month, the Marine Corps will step out smartly to faithfully implement this new policy. I, and the Sergeant Major of the Marine Corps, will personally lead this effort, thus ensuring the respect and dignity due all Marines. On this matter, we look forward to further demonstrating to the American people the discipline and loyalty that have been the hallmark of the United States Marine Corps for over 235 years."

Amos should have resigned. That would have made a real loud and clear statement for moral clarity. Now with this statement, he is looking like a poster child for fags in the barracks.

Okay, so Amos resigns, leaving behind all his active-duty Marines who are in the middle of their enlistments without the option to resign, and midgrade officers whose resignations won't be accepted. Exactly what good does that accomplish?

If you think this battle is already lost permanently, and that there's no way to reverse it, why does it matter what Amos says? You've already run up the white flag.

If we are right that this is a bad policy, and I think we are...

By the way newbie. I suggest you decide PDQ what you believe about the pro-gay agenda. You think we should implement the repeal of DADT and see if it falls apart?

That's not smart thinking around here.

No, all those ribbons (including the bronze star for Desert Storm) hold him to the ground.

And when in conflict, God’s Law is superior to the laws of man. Our Declaration of Independence makes that clear.

You've changed your stance. It appears you and I now agree, Jacquerie.

So are you now in agreement with me (and others) that the general must either refuse to implement the anti-Christian homosexualist agenda in the military or take a courageous stand by stepping down?

Just how deep does your anti-constitutionalism run here, pal?

Really? You think my opposing the homosexaual agenda is anti-constitutional?

Let me - again - suggest you read the following. Then tell Jim all about his anti-constitutionalism.

If you support the homosexual agenda you are anti-Constitution and you'll get the zot from FR!

A couple more posters got zotted today.

Guess we need another reminder:

If you support the homosexual agenda you are anti-constitution ...

I have a feeling he has a plan...don’t be disapointed, yet.

I agree! Come on people think about this...

STRATEGERY

How best to oppose the agenda than be the one directing its implementation wink wink...

Out patriots just need to buy some time until the leftists are removed from 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue.

I would have been happy if Amos had just kept his hole shut.

But noooo.... He had to go out of his way and make this statement in support of this pro-fag policy.

What the blue blazes are you talking about? I have said nothing remotely suggesting that I think this is anything other than a terrible idea. Is this just your standard "run to mommy" response when you get in a discussion in which you're emotional-laden responses are answered with logic?

As for being a "newbie", my posting goes back to 1999, and I was forced to change screennames when my password was corrupted and JimRob couldn't get the old account deleted or reinstated. A quirk of the software, according to his email to me. My former posting name was XJarhead, if that matters to an HTML desk jockey such as yourself.

You think we should implement the repeal of DADT and see if it falls apart?

No, you blockhead. I opposed the repeal strongly and still do. It's a horrible idea. But the decision as to whether we "should" implement the repeal was decided by the U.S. Congress, including a bloc of brain-addled Republicans. That is a fact, and stamping your foot on the floor and wishing it otherwise won't address the problem.

I'd have understood it if Amos had resigned, but I think long-term, that would make the possibility of reinstatement of the policy less likely.

I’ve done so. Many times. Perhaps you can show me however...

Where exactly is the Right to bugger butts in the barracks?

I seem to have missed that one.

I think you're missing the point. A mere week ago, it was Amos who sounded as if he would lead the charge to fight implementation of homosexualism in the military.

But now he's surrendered.

It is Amos who has run up the white flag.

Did you ever think you would read something like this in your lifetime?

The senior pieces of sh!t running the military deserve nothing but utter scorn and contempt.

Here is the list of GOP faggots, for ready reference:

1. Lisa Murkowski (R - Alaska)
2. Mark Kirk (R - Illinois)
3. Susan Collins (R - Maine)
4. Olympia Snowe (R - Maine)
5. Scott Brown (R - Massachusetts)
6. John Ensign (R - Nevada)
7. Richard Burr (R - North Carolina)
8. George Voinovich (R - Ohio)

Also, Senator-elect Pat Toomey of Pennsylvania stated prior to the vote that he supports homosexualizing the American military. Every one of these sick scumbags must be defeated.

I asked..

“You think we should implement the repeal of DADT and see if it falls apart?”

Based on you saying... “If we are right that this is a bad policy, and I think we are, then the best strategy is to follow orders and let the policy collapse under the weight of it’s own flawed premises.”

__________________________________________________

The idea that we allow this travesty of faggotry into the military as a social experiment and hope that it collapses “under the weight of it’s own flawed premises” is laughable.

Once these perverts and deviants gets their foot in the door - there’s no turning back.

Especially with Gen Amos now leading the gay parade to penetrate - I mean integrate - fags in the military.
