The DREAM Act would have provided amnesty for many children of undocumented immigrants who had no choice in their arrival to the United States. It would have also provided amnesty to all of their family members who come from lands that were stolen by the United States

Trying to communicate to readers to beware of individuals who think that one fine day that there’ll be “duck season” for eeeleguls. I hope that it is seen that maybe that’s not an approach that will either work or win elections.

That’s not a criterion. I’m not here to be happier, I’m here to communicate certain essential information that needs to be heard even if it won’t be heard by those who are responding on this thread.

I don’t expect to convert anybody who thinks that they’re a “sovereign citizen,” or who wants to round up all the illegals and throw them in jail, or who thinks that America = an America hostile to blacks, Hispanics or anyone else, or that the Constitution ceased to be worth anything after 1865.

I do expect that there are readers of this thread who might find a new approach to a problem that usually only gets mindless duckspeak responses around here.

First line of the fourteenth amendment. All persons born or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the State wherein they reside. Right. there. Plain. english. "All persons born ... and subjected to the jurisdiction [of the United States]... are citizens." And jurisdiction means 'under the laws of.' A diplomat with diplomatic immunity is not 'under the laws of' this country but of his own, just as our diplomats are 'under the laws of' the United States and not the country they are in. If you're born here you ARE a citizen. That's it the end goodbye. And: That's the law since 1867.
